Work Smart: Empowering SHS Students with Skills and Knowledge in the Workplace
Labor Employment for Graduating Students (LEGS)
Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) seminar program was held by DOLE-NCR MUNTAPARLAS Field Office (MTPLFO) headed by MTPLFO Director Leonides Castillon Jr. from March 15–17, 2023, with participation from 655 senior high school students at the Las Pinas City National Senior High School CAA Campus. The seminar, which is divided into three (3) sessions, seeks to provide students with up-to-date and pertinent knowledge on the labor market so they may make wise career decisions and be aware of their rights and benefits as employees.
The LEGS seminar program is made to instruct "would-be workers" about their obligations and rights at work. It aims to educate students about the application process for employment, whether it be domestically or abroad (DOLE, 2013). Furthermore, to ensure that future workers can make decisions that would assist them find jobs relevant to their backgrounds and based on the labor market prediction and demands, DOLE-NCR constantly offers and enhances its career advocacy and labor education programs (DOLE, 2023).
