SCHOOL HISTORY

The Tuao Vocational and Technical School located at Naruangan Tuao Cagayan was first established as Naruangan Barrio High School under Barangay Resolution No. 07, s.1971, dated July 1, 1971. In February 1983, the Municipal Council of Tuao, Cagayan passed a Resolution for the conversion of the Naruangan Barangay High School into a nationalized vocational and technical high school. Finally on June 24, 1983 Batas Pambansa Bilang 592, was enacted creating the Tuao Vocational and Technical School.

The Tuao Vocational and Technical School was originally under the Department of Education Culture and Sports-Region 02 specifically with the Bureau of Vocational and Technical Education (BVTE). Subsequently, the issuance of Technical Education Skills Development Authority Circular No. 08 Series of 1997 dated May 5, 1997 which pertains to the financial guidelines mandated the transfer of management of Vocational Technical Education from DECS to TESDA which took effect on July 1, 1998. However, in view of the issuance of a DECS Memorandum mandating the transfer of supervision of the school from TESDA to DECS, the school received again its funding from DECS-Region 02 since July 1 to December 31, 1998.

The Tuao Vocational and Technical School is a secondary school that envisions conductiong activities of knowledge and technical know how to improve skills, values, educational needs, participate in the program to develop occupational skills and community development, and simulate creative skills and knowledge for quality education.

The school site was donated by the Local Government Unit, represented by late Atty. Leonardo N. Mamba, Municipal Mayor of Tuao Cagayan during the administration of Mr. Eufronio C. Mabazza, Principal of Tuao Vocational and Technical School.

At present, Tuao Vocational and Technical School continuously improves academically and physically. The population is growing since its decrease in the 90’s because of the creation of three school annexes. Its previous Mr. Loreto B. Oli, initiated huge improvements on cleanliness and beautification of the school. With the present administration and leadership of Dr. Maribel Arellano, the school is expected to soar even better and grander.
