Presenting the PRIDE of the San Carlos City Division, HOME of charactered and competent personnel in the region, MODEL of a SIKAT educational institution – TURAC NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.
Spearheaded by Mr. Jeffrey D. Muñoz, a man of dynamism and excellence, we, in the Senior High school, are bold and bright in upholding the battle cry of the Department of Education “SULONG EDUKALIDAD” through continuously creating innovative and inventive methods in teaching to bring out the best of our learners.
Turac National High School held a Gender and Development (GAD) training Cum Team Building Activities at the Rockview Resort, Abrac Patar, Bolinao, Pangasinan, August 5.
The said training aimed to a.) develop camaraderie and rapport among the participants and improve their lifestyle enabling them to be more committed and responsive to gender equality and equity; b.) Discover effective ways to get accomplish tasks by cooperating with other team members and it can give way to the discovery of potential leaders; c.) develop wellness among participants by having healthy lifestyle to be physically fit.
The speaker was Mr. Jeffrey D. Munoz, school principal. He spoke about Keys to Good Leadership and stressed on the importance of good leadership in school that help to foster both a positive and motivating culture for staff and high quality experience for learners.
Furthermore, team building activity was also conducted to sustain camaraderie, partnership, strong relationship, cooperation, teamwork, and discipline among the Faculty and Staff of the school.
It is hoped that after the training, the teachers and staff will be more committed, passionate, and dedicated in delivering gender responsive education to all the learners. The said activity was facilitated by Mr. Jonathan Quirante.
Mrs. Maricel N. Maynigo gave her words of wisdom being one the proponents on the said training.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony and distribution of training certificates.
Turac National High School conducted School-Based BSP Backyard Encampment with a theme: “Sustaining Growth”. Primary activities of this event aimed to develop every scout’s character, cultivating love and appreciation for scouting through different hands-on activities.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Sheila Marie A. Primicias, Division BSP Commissioner, Mr. Marlon B. Ecol, PTA President, Mr. Arturo Santos, Troop Leaders, Scout Masters boy scouts and girl scouts.
The Senior Citizens of Barangay Turac in this City were given a special tribute last December 9, 2022 held at the Turac National High School quadrangle. This is in connection with Proclamation No 470 mandating the celebration of the Elderly Week every year in the month of October.
The Grade 12 STEM students also assisted the nurses in attending to the different needs of the beneficiaries like getting basic information, checking the Blood Pressure, and giving medicines among others.
A short opening program was conducted followed by a short talk/lecture about Senior Citizens benefits. They were also given chance to share some stories or experiences. The once young citizens of Turac also participated in the different games, singing and dance contest led by Mr. Christopher C. Aboy while the afternoon event was highlighted by a gift giving spearheaded by the generous principal Dr. Jeffrey D. Munoz.
The said event ended with a smile on the face of the Senior Citizens and left the school bringing with them their valued gifts and an unforgettable experience they will cherish and remember as long as they live. The said endeavor was headed Mrs. Maricel N. Maynigo and Mrs. Mary Jeanny Rose S. De Guzman, the school’s GAD Coordinators together with the support of the Administrators and staff of Turac National High School.
Turac National High School campus journalist seized the day as they exhibit their ardent journalism skills on a two-day School Based Press Conference held on December 1 and 2 at the Student Center.
School Paper Advisers and future breed of journalists came together as they enthused in an array of lectures and discussions about the fundamentals of campus journalism. The press conference aimed to harness the strengths of individual students and discovered the potentials of the students in the different categories of journalism that will mold them to be next fourth state of the society.
This yearly press conference has been a honing ground among students who have an earnest inclination in campus journalism. According to Mrs. Marissa J. Majadellas, school paper adviser, the imparted knowledge, skills and trainings among participants will encourage students to write by creating purpose and vision, but it also to improve writing abilities.
The students competed in various categories with English and Filipino divisions such as News Writing, Editorial Writing, Sports Writing, Feature Writing, Cartooning, copy Reading and Headline Writing after the lectures conducted.
Winners in the various categories will advanced to the Press Conference Division Level Competition
The conduct of the school presscon is pursuant to the Republic Act 7079, or the Campus Journalism Act of 1991.

Everywhere we go , we can carry and open our books. If we are bored, we can scan and skim our books for a while just to relax and entertain ourselves.
It enlightens and broaden our knowledge for more informations and wisdom that we can use and adopt for our everyday lives.

Ms. Dessa Jea C. Magalong, one of the facilitators, started the session through an activity, “What are the Changes that Happen to Teenager Juan and Juana”. The different groups of participants actively participated in that short activity. After a given time, each group’s representatives have presented their outputs.
She processed the activity by asking some questions to the participants and supplemented them with clarifications and answers.
As the session continued, she discussed the different changes that happen to an individual during puberty. These changes were tackled as physical, mental, emotional, social and sexuality changes. She also reiterated the differences between the sexual preferences and gender. She also mentioned about the importance of nurturing, protecting and valuing their sexuality.
Miss Dessa ended the session by giving challenge and advice to the participants about balancing situations and consequences in making decisions because the participants are now teenagers and not young anymore. She gave advices to the participants on how to be more aware about the consequences of teenage pregnancy and parenthood.
