The Special Science Elementary School Project has the following objectives:
identify scientifically inclined pupils and provide them with venues, opportunities and exposures for developing necessary skills and aptitudes for entry to sciences high schools;
provide technical and logistical assistance to SSES implementing schools;
determine capacities of regular schools for implementing SSES; and
develop SSES program models for both the regular and SPED schools.
Pupils desiring to qualify to the SSES program should possess the following traits:
generally physically healthy;
quickly recall factual information;
has logical reasoning ability;
inquisitive and curious;
observant;
has verbal linguistic ability;
emotionally stable;
confident;
expresses authentic feelings;
requires little direction from the teacher; and
discerns right from wrong.
