Silangan Elementary School is bounded with the belief that “Education is the key to success”. Circumscribed with that credence, the people in the community initiated to build a small school to cater the needs of the children within the village. The school was housed at the barracks of the soldiers before Labahan Elementary School (its former name) came into being. Its pioneer teachers were Mrs. Leonisa C. Awarayan and Mrs. Susana J. Pulido way back June, in 1986.
On October of that same year, Mrs. Rosalinda Marasigan, transferred post from Malabon. Subsequent to that, Mrs. Estellita V. Bonilla was assigned here as the Teacher in Charge (TIC). After sometime, the neighboring Buntong Palay Community School was dissolved and that brought Mrs. Benedicta R. De Chavez here.
After the term of Mrs. Estelita V. Bonilla, Mrs. Consolacion O. San Jose took over. There were eight (8) teachers then. It was succeeded with the leadership of Mrs. Priscilla Y. Flores whose term lasted only for around seven (7) to eight (8) months. Then, Mr. Gaudiano Zinampan came. He led the teaching force for ten (10) long years. It was during his time when Labahan Elementary School was changed to Silangan Elementary School.
Then, the SES family multiplied, several teachers were posted to service from time to time until Mr. Zinampan was replaced by Mr. Angelito Dasalla. There were twenty-six (26) teachers during that time. His governance lasted for two years before Mrs. Romana Manansala supplanted him. Several principals succeeded the latter. They were Mr. Jose J. San Miguel, Mrs. Erlinda Zinampan, Mrs. Mercedes Gutierrez, Mrs. Leonisa C. Awarayan, Mr. Federico Fortunado, Mrs. Cleta F. Saladero, Mrs. Anamarie A. Jabat and Ms. Elvira E. Seguera.
Currently, Mrs. Wilma R. Camiña is managing the school. We are composed of 3 Non-Teaching Personnel, 131 Teaching Personnel, 4 Administrative Staff and 11 Utilities. The small community have been bountifully growing and abruptly improving over the years with almost 5,000 learners.
