Theme: GENESCAPES: Priming Perspectives, Amplifying Advancements"
As part of the Science Month Celebration, the Science Department of Southern Davao National High School conducted a Quiz Bee for every Grade level. The Quiz Bee was conducted as a team-category competition. There were three members for each team, who competed with the other teams from the different sections in their grade level. The competition was composed of three rounds: easy, average, and difficult. The team who got the highest scores was declared winner.
The Quiz Bee competition for the Grade 7 Level was conducted last September 19, 2022. There were 7 sections who participated in the competition. In the end, the team from section Jade got the 3rd Place, the 2nd Place was from the section Diamond, and the team who got the highest score and declared 1st Place was from section Sapphire. The Certificates for the winners will be given during the Culmination Program of the Science Month Celebration.
Mechanics:
Ø There shall be three (3) representatives per section.
Ø Each group will prepare a ¼ illustration board and chalk.
Ø The students will compete with their respective grade level.
Ø There will be Easy, Average and Difficult round.
Ø The topics will cover from 1st quarter to 4th quarter.

Grade 10 Level:
The Grade 10 Science Quiz Bee started at 12:15 in the afternoon at Grade 10 St. Luke classroom held last September 22, 2022. It was participated in by the seven sections in Grade 10. It comprised three students per team/section namely: St. Joseph, St. Mark, St. John, St. Luke, St. Matthew, St. Thomas, and St. Dominic.
The contest had three rounds - the easy round, the average round, and the difficult round. Easy round was composed of fifteen (15) items (multiple choices) which required students to just simply recall their stock knowledge in General Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Chemical Sciences. The average round was composed of ten (10) items (multiple choices) that required students to comprehend and analyze the questions in the four fields of Sciences. And lastly, the difficult round was composed of five (5) items (multiple choices) that needed to be analyzed, synthesized and evaluated. Each team was given letters A, B, C, and D, written in a ½ A4 bond paper. Questions and choices were asked twice and after 30 seconds, the bell rung and students were asked to raise the letter of their choice.
After the difficult round, the tabulator counted the team’s scores and it resulted to the following:
3rd Place – Grade 10 St. Thomas namely: Anthony A. Orpiano, Alexis Deniel M. Caga, and Denzel Lance O. Bernal,
2nd Place – Grade 10 St. John- Ernn Elizabeth L. Fa-Ocbit., Keith T. Estanel and Mica Ella M. Alterado and
1st Place – St. Matthew - Renz Dale O. Villa, Michaela Nicol M. Hinoguin, and Febbie Donnica T. Legara.
