Pangarap High School is located inside Pangarap Village, a community composed of two ( 2 ) barangays: 181 and 182. Geographycally, it is bounded in the east of Rodriguez ( formerly Montalban ) Rizal, to the west of Quirino Highwayto the north of San Jose del Monte Bulacan to the south of Bantay Kalikasan, Quezon City. Seventy percent ( 70 % ) of the residents are classified as indigent. Many are living in the livelihood of stick making . The two barangays have a total area of 161 hectares.
Pangarap High School is a training ground for OICs who were promoted as Principal. The pillars of the school are the silent witnesses of its struggle against the supposedly land owner if not against themselves in terms of motivation and passion in this arena of education. Many of its alumni have succeeded in life to which the school is very proud of. Indeed, the school is far from the modernization but it is continuing to serve its purpose: a strong foundation of good future of the Filipino youth.
Pangarap High School was established in 1976. It was formerly known as Pangarap Barangay High School. During the first year of establishment, it was occupying one of the buildings adjacent Pangarap Elemntary school. The high school was also under the leadership of then Elementary Principal, Mrs. Natividad L. Velasco. There were only two teachers that time because there were only 78 students enrolled in First Year.
In 1977, construction of the Bagong Lipunan Building began but the students were still occupying the elementary rooms. The Bagong Lipunan Building was completed in the following year. The enrolment rose by 20% and there are already three ( 3 ) teachers handling them all.
In 1989, the DepEd building 1, two ( 2 ) storey with four ( 4 ) classrooms was constructed. In 1993 the DepEd building 2 and 3 was constructed.
In 1998, the Bagong Lipunan Building blazed into fire because of faulty wiring during the time of Mrs. Clarita Martinez. In 2010, during the time of Mr. Joel Salvador, the covered court was erected by the budget of the City Mayor Recom Echiverri. In that same year, Congressman Oca Malapitan facilitated the construction of the Malapalitan Building: a two storey building with four ( 4 ) classrooms. In the year 2012, during the time of Dr. Nelly Salvador, three ( 3 ) Electronic classrooms were installed which intention is to upgrade the instructions of the teachers for the benefit of the students.
In the year 2015, the whole Pangarap Village lost its electrical power supply from Meralco because the transformer exploded because of heavy loads due to the allegation of tapping. From May 29, 2015, to May 7, 2016, the elementary and high school were able to serve their purpose because of Mayor Oca Malapitan provided the two school an Industrial Generator. The four days in a week gasoline consumption was shouldered by the city government while the remaining day was shouldered by the elementary and high school in the amount of P5,000.00 per day.
At present, the school is escalating in terms of achievements and good rapport with all the stake holders. The scenario of land litigation is worsening as manifested by the significant transfer of residents. Thus, they are leaving their homes at Pangarap Village to a place where basic commodities is not at least hampered. Nevertheless, the Administration and the teachers including the whole stakeholders are very hopeful to inculcate into the students the true essence of being a Filipino despite all odds. With the launching of the DTBK program: ( AKO AY MAKADIYOS, MAKATAO, MAKABANSA AT MAKAKALIKASAN ) , the Vision, Mission and the Core values OF DepEd are slowly but surely being realized.
After 40 years, Pangarap High School had been home to 16 school heads. They are:
