On March 18, 2025, the much-anticipated Research Fair 2025 took place, bringing together bright minds and innovative ideas under the theme "Bridging Science and Society: Collaborative and Inclusive Solutions for Community Challenges." This event was a testament to the power of education and community engagement in addressing real-world problems through scientific inquiry and collaboration.
Keynote Address by Dr. Llanely V. Fabello
The fair was graced by the esteemed Dr. Llanely V. Fabello, a Master Teacher II from Sta. Cristina Elementary School. Dr. Fabello's keynote address set the tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of integrating scientific research with societal needs. She highlighted how collaborative efforts between educators, students, and the community can lead to meaningful solutions that benefit everyone. Her inspiring words resonated with the audience, encouraging them to think beyond the classroom and consider the broader impact of their work.
Showcasing Student Innovation
Students from Dasmariñas West National High School and Paliparan National High School were the stars of the event, presenting their research projects and innovative solutions to pressing community challenges. These young researchers demonstrated remarkable creativity and dedication, tackling issues ranging from environmental sustainability to public health.
One of the standout projects was a water purification system designed by a team from Dasmariñas West National High School. This system, which uses locally sourced materials, aims to provide clean drinking water to underserved communities. Another notable project from Paliparan National High School focused on developing a low-cost, solar-powered device to assist farmers in monitoring soil moisture levels, thereby improving crop yields and reducing water usage.
Interactive STEM Booths
In addition to the research presentations, STEM students set up interactive booths that showcased their experiments and projects. These booths provided a hands-on experience for attendees, allowing them to engage with the scientific process and understand the practical applications of the students' work. From robotics demonstrations to renewable energy models, the booths were a hit among visitors of all ages.
Fostering a Collaborative Spirit
The Research Fair 2025 was not just about showcasing individual achievements; it was about fostering a spirit of collaboration and inclusivity. The event provided a platform for students, educators, and community members to come together, share ideas, and work towards common goals. It highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and the need for diverse perspectives in solving complex problems.
It's that time of year when students, armed with curiosity and determination, are gearing up to present their proposed research titles. For these young minds, research is not just an academic requirement—it's an opportunity to make their mark on the world. Let's make it count! resonates deeply with the HUMSS community. It's a call to action, urging students to approach their research with purpose and passion. As they brainstorm topics and refine their proposals, they are reminded that their work has the potential to spark change, challenge norms, and contribute to the ongoing discourse in their chosen fields.
