The Teacher Induction Program (TIP) is a three-year program institutionalized to provide a systematic and comprehensive support system for the newly-hired teachers in order to seamlessly immerse them in the teaching profession in the public school system. This program is anchored in the D.O. 42 s. 2017 - Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), K to 12 Basic Education Program, and the TEC Law (also known as Republic Act No. 7784).
DepEd Order 43, s. 2017
This DepEd Order provides guidelines on the implementation, procedure, and monitoring and evaluation of TIP. This covers teachers who are newly hired and with 0–3 years of teaching experience in the public school system.
With the issuance of DepED Order No. 11, s.2019 (Implementation of NEAP Transformation), the management of TIP was transferred from the Teacher Education Council Secretariat (TEC) to the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP).
Generally, the program intends to improve the teachers’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values (KSAVs), and increase their confidence in teaching to make them effective and efficient, and eventually commit themselves to nurture every learner and become passionate in teaching.
