The Luga National High School, former Sta. Teresita National High School Annex was opened June 2004 to cater the needs of the youth coming from the southern and southern barangays of Sta. Teresita which is 4 to 7.5 kilometers away from población where most of the enrollees there dropped from school middle period of the SY particularly during rainy season. The school started with two locally funded teachers, 25 first year students with Mr. Luciano U. Asuncion as the Officer-in-charge. Students were temporarily housed at Luga Elementary School occupying the school site through a donation with TCT No. T-167310 donated by the Fil-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. Aparri, Cagayan.Of the 25 first year enrollees, it increases to 48 fourth year students because the previous school years drop-outs and average youth continued their studies in this school and graduated on March 28, 2008 as the Pioneer Graduates. Further development plans and initiatives of the school with the support of the stakeholders uplifted the capabilities of the youth.Through the leadership of Mr. Luciano U. Asuncion and support of talented faculty members, the school has produced graduates who are now stakeholders of this school. The school is offering Junior High School Curriculum, Grades 7-10 and Senior High School Curriculum Academic Track with Humanities and Social Sciences as its strand. With strong partnership to community and continued support of stakeholders, the school is already on the process of metamorphosis. At present there are 290 enrollees, with 10 teaching staff and 1 non-teaching staff under the baton of the new administrator, Mrs. Venus V. Bautista, HT1/Officer In-charge.
