Kapitan Moy Elementary School-Marikina District II-Marikina City-Philippines
Laureano Guevarra, popularly known as Kapitan Moy is the father of the shoe making industry in Marikina City. He donated his house to the municipal government on March 11, 1912.
Due to a need for primary school, this donated residential house at J.P. Rizal, Sta. Elena lead to the birth of Kapitan Moy Elementary school, named after its donor.
On June 4, 1976, the school became a complete Elementary School.
Due to the increasing population at Kapitan Moy Elementary School the city government decided to transfer the school to a new location at Champagnat St., Barangay Marikina Heights.
The school is a performing school with progressive and committed teachers. Despite the movement from its previous site to a two-story building with (18) rooms.
The school maintained its dignity and commitment to excellence and face the challenges together with teachers, administrator and staff, family, community, and other stake holders in attaining the vision and mission of the Department of Education as a whole and of Kapitan Moy Elementary School (KMES) in particular.
