Ibabang Talim Integrated High School was located in Purok Masayahin, Brgy. Ibabang Talim Lucena City. It was headed by Ms. Arlene L. Mendoza, OIC-Head Teacher III. This integrated high school was composed of Junior and Senior High department respectively. This school was formerly known as Gulang Gulang National High School Ibabang Talim Extension, then separated last year 2019 from the mother school, Gulang Gulang National High School. The school continues to grow since its establishment way back June, 2009. The population of the school has increased as well as the number of teachers. In terms of its facilities, it has now two computer laboratories, for JHS and SHS. Three newly-built buildings were turned-over to be used for SY 2020-2021 namely PAGCOR building, Suarez Computer Lab and SHS building. Other amenities like canteen was also improved and it has now washing area for the students.

Greetings!
Covid-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption in the education systems in our history. It affects nearly 1.6 billion learners in more than 190 countries and all continents.
As the health crisis unfolded, it caused massive socio-economic disruptions, education systems around the world were swift to react and adapt. As a response to our national government's call to ripple the effect of Covid-19 to our education system, Ibabang Talim Integrated High School responded quickly to ensure the continuity of our students' education while we protect their safety.
We immediately turned to ICT, wherein our teachers move from face to face learning to an online delivery of lessons. Now we know that there are some of our learners who have limited connectivity and to patch up, we will use a more traditional learning modalities with an often blended mode of learning and distribution of printed school modules and materials.
Now our concerted efforts will not succeed if we will not do this together. I know that this pandemic has caused anxieties, fears and uncertainties. But I know that we are capable, strong, and resilient. We may not control the situation but we can control ourselves, our thoughts, actions, and choices. We can rise above these challenging times and continue our mission together as one community.
The school year 2020-2021 amidst this pandemic will bring new challenges that will compel us to re-configure our academic strategies with urgency but with uncertainty, and oftentimes beyond our capacity to cope but we must not lose hope.
As we face this school year, let us not forget that God is with us. We have to intensify our faith. Because at the end of the day, all we need is hope and strength. Hope that it will eventually get better and strength to hold on till it does. And while we are waiting, let us give hope and inspire one another for whatever hardship, challenges, indecisions and fears that we may face. Remember that these too shall pass and by the grace of God we will overcome.
To our learners, we hope that they continue to trust us that what we do today will define what kind of professionals they will be in the future. We promise that education excellence will always be and will still be part of everything that we do.
Remember that tomorrow is still full of wonderful possibilities for all of us.

Learning Action Cell SESSION NO. 1-Orientation on the 2020 Online and Self- Guided PFA Modules
The session had started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and an opening prayer which was led by Ms. Mary Grace R. De Castro .Mr. Isagani P. Nocus had given the rationale of the LAC Session 1, that in order to come up with a concrete plan in delivering the psychosocial support that the teachers, learners and parents need in order to cope up the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, an orientation on the 2020 online and self-guided PFA modules was conducted. The training matrix was given by Mrs. Catherine Joy F. Manalo.The first discussant was Mrs. Arlene Mendoza. She had given the introduction on online and self guided PFA Module. In her discussion, she said that the current set of public school teachers and non- teaching staff for SY 2020-2021 is likewise being tasked to conduct various psychosocial services to learners. This additional load may leave teacher feeling stressed and overwhelmed. She also said that students should be provided with avenue by which the can discuss fear, feelings and anxieties. They should be empowered to look for their strengths. She also reminded the teachers that all modules and worksheets must be ready on September 21, 2020 .For the continuation of the first topic, Mr. Isagani P. Nocus had given some drills to activate the mind of the teachers before he gave the add-ons and revisions to the basic facilitation skills needed by teachers, guidance counsellors and other personnel. He also presented the competencies needed and are expected by PFA providers. He also presented the skills which are useful when delivering online which are as follows: active listening, integrating, communication skills, process observation and analysis and creating an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance and support.
PFA providers should show the role of a facilitator, show unconditional positive regard, should encourage the students to help themselves and make their own decisions rather than imposing solutions and foster awareness and perseverance. He also discussed the things that teachers should consider in referring the students to specialized support. The next speaker was Mr. Jordan B. Padua. He had discussed Module 1: Validating Feelings and Normalizing Reactions. He had presented some techniques on we can empathize with the students during online classes. He first presented the Graphic feeling, an activity which is intended to know the students’ feelings and emotion during the class or in a given situation. There should be an analysis wherein the student must realize that some of their emotions are the same with the others. You may white board, a piece of paper or even typing their answers in the chat box. As teacher you can also show table of common reaction of students in time of stressful events.Module 2: Calming Down and Controlling One’s Emotions was discussed by Mrs. Maycy Laurence F. Sevilla. The module includes managing complex situations and reactions and guide helpers in self-care. In her discussion she said that the participants should be able to know more about reactions to distress, know what psychological first aid is and what is now, understand the three action principles of “LOOK, LISTEN, and LINK”, should have considered complex reactions and situations and lastly to be aware of the importance of self-care when helping others. In her talk, she reiterated the common causes of stress which teachers are experiencing in the new normal.
She suggested writing, as it made some people feel more relaxed after they write about their feelings. One way is to keep a journal. She ended her discussion by leaving the message “Don’t try to calm the storm. Calm yourself. The storm will pass.” Ms. Janice C. Cablaida had talked about Module 3: Identifying and Addressing Needs. In this module it cannot be assumed that just because students are back in school that all their basic needs have been met. It is essential to have a venue where students can express their needs and see how the school can help them access these. As a teacher, you will need the important contact numbers beforehand in order to know where to link students who need help. She also presented how to conduct the Module 3 which can be done Online or Handouts. Regardless of the type of disaster, people who are affected often need help in the following: Frequent Needs (WHO et al., 2011) • Basic needs: food, shelter, water, clean toilets • Health services for those who are ill and injured (and for those who seem to be suffering from anxiety, trauma and depression)• Simple and correct information about the event, loved ones and services available for them• Access to cell phones, internet, email in order to contact loved ones and other sources of social support • Being consulted about major decisions that will directly affect their lives (e.g., being transported to another province, moving to a bunk house, etc.)She said that it cannot be assumed that just because students are back in school that all their basic needs have been met. It is essential to have a venue where students can express their needs and see how the school can help them access these.
As a teacher, you will need the important contact numbers beforehand in order to know where to link students who need help. The last module was discussed by Mrs. Klara Emeliza P. Abeja. She had presented the goal of this module which aims to encourage students to revisit their strengths in order to support their self-efficacy to deal with their situation. In order to encourage a hopeful outlook, the module serves to reinforce students’ sources of support and internal and external resources. She said that just like a kite, that needs the wind, it needs to be made of good material, it needs a line or a long string, it needs a strong brace, etc. it can be our way of reminding you that you have resources within yourselves or with others that have allowed you to begin your process of recovery. Just like a kite, you too have what it takes to fly. We need to inculcate the students that they need to have good personality and adjust to many difficulties and challenges.An awarding ceremony had been done at the end of the session.
