As a ray of hope for students who travel long hours to reach the school in the city proper of Lucena, IText, otherwise known as Ibabang Talim Extension was successfully founded in 2009. This institution of learning started as a small part of Ibabang Talim Elementary School campus through the concerted efforts of the proponents headed by Dr. Maro D. Blauta, Schools Division Superintendent, former City Mayor Ramon Y. Talaga Jr., Ibabang Talim Brgy. Captain Graciano D. Portes, Ibabang Talim Bryg. Councilor, Mrs. Roselyn Golpo, Ibabang Talim Elementary School Principal I and Mrs. Anicia J. Villaruel, Gulang Gulang National High Principal I. Though were some difficluts encountered, these hardships had never become obstacles for the passionate education and stakeholders in pursuing this learning institution.
Due to the great demand to establish a secondary public school that will cater to the needs of students whose parents cannot afford to send their children to school in the city proper. So on June 6, 2009, IText opened its door to barely 70 freshmen enrollees (28 males, and 42 females) and three faculty members namely, Mrs. Theresa Macatangay, Mrs. Maricar Espinosa and Mr. Reymark Queaño. The principalship was held by Mrs. Anicia J. Villaruel of GGNHS. Due to some constraints in transportation of Mrs. Macatangay, Mrs. Espinosa and Mr. Queaño, they were transferred to GGNHS. Mrs. Joanne R. Aberos (TLE Major and contractual teacher), Mrs. Ma. Cecilia M. Alfonso (Math Major and LSB teacher) and Mrs. Maribel Millares (English Major) took their places. Mrs. Millares temporarily served as leader/ OIC. On September 1, 2009, Mrs. Millares transferred at Cotta National High School and Mrs. Pelagia R. Regio, a transferee teacher II from DepEd Marinduque took over.
On June 2010, Mr. Rolito M. Inojosa, Head Teacher III and Division Science Coordinator from Lucena City National High School was designated as the Official Head/ OIC of GGNHS-Ibabang Talim Extension. On the following month, Miss Everly Trinity Michelle C. Clemente (Science Major and LSB teacher) and Miss Rhea Ann P. Usona (English Major and contractual teacher) were added to the teaching force of IText. Due to a promotion, Mr. Inojosa was re-assigned as Principal I of Lucena Dalahican National High School. He turned over the school to Miss Filomena Bayani, Head Teacher I from Lucena City National High School. As the newly promoted Head Teacher I/OIC of GGNHS-Ibabang Talim Extension, she vowed to perform her best for the sake of the school and the community as a whole. Few months later, after Ma'am Bayani transfer to CNHS, four new teachers were added to the teaching force of IText, Mr. Jayson C. Aguilon (Math Major), Ms. Mary Jane I. Dela Cruz (Math Major), Mr. Chris Charles A. Ibardelosa (Math Major) and Ms. Vivian Zamora (English Major), Mrs. Regio acted as the Teacher-in-Charge (TIC) during that time. Later on Mrs. Arlene L. Mendoza, took over as the OIC/HT III from Lucena City National High School . Before the end of the school year 2011-2012, Ms. Vivian Zamora was given a national item and transferred to Lucena City National High School. She was replaced by Ms. Genvie Verso (English Major, contractual teacher) until the end of the school year. Ms. Luzel R. Ranuda (Science teacher) was hired on the next year. On the other hand, Ms. Clemente also given a national item and immediately transferred to CNHS. On the said school year, three new teachers added to the teaching force, Mr. Ricky Macalaguin (English Major), Ms. Jennifer Ramos (English Major) and Ms. Celestine Villaroxas (Science Major) continued the challenge with a first batch of graduation.
On May 15, 2013, the faculty received their national item and eventually five newly hired teachers took over their places as LSB; they were Mr. Isagani P. Nocus (Math Major), Mr. Johnry F. Britanico (MAPEH Major), Ms. Raiza Ann H. Ebarle (Math Major), Ms. Maica G. Lavarez (AP Major) and Mrs. Marife M. De Villa (English Major).
Presently, the school is headed by an enthusiastic and a servant brother Ricky B. Depusoy, OIC-SSHT-II alongside with the equally dedicated and competent teachers of the school. He was designated to GGNHS-Itext on September 11, 2011 to June 30, 2015 under the supervision of the Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Aniano M. Ogayon, CESO V. Under his leadership he was able to make big improvements on the school such as developing the School's Site Development Plan and Usufruct Agreement of the new school site with a total land area of 11,015 square meters which was inaugurated on May 27, 2014. On the same school year, Sir Depusoy made a request to Mayor Roderick A. Alcala for the construction of the 72m in length x 6ft in height concrete fence with metal gate, stage, and 100m in length concrete pathway.
On the first day of June 2015, three newly hired teachers were added to the teaching force; they were Mrs. Klara Emiliza P. Abeja (English Major), Mr. Richard L. Ricamara (TLE Major) and Mr. Marc Kiel C. Pacinos (Science Major).
After several days, Mr. Pacinos was transferred to Mayao Parada Extension due to the urgency needs. On July 2, 2015, Ms. Arlene L. Mendoza from GGNHS took over again the leadership at the school while Sir Depusoy was transferred to Ransohan Integrated School as the new Officer-in-Charge. After a week, other changes had come. As Ms. Lavarez and Mr. Ricamara took the national item, they were also transferred to GGNHS.
Currently, Ms. Arlene L. Mendoza and all the faculty members and non-teaching personnel continuously dream and work together to make the school achieve its full potential in accordance to the DepEd Vision, Mission and Core Values. A number of education and stakeholders took part in establishing IText and served the school in molding the minds and hearts of its learners and believes with conviction that in time it will continually grow and become the home of successful individuals in the future.
