The idea and plan of establishing a secondary school at Hacienda-Intal started in March 2000 through the initiative of Marcelo H. Batulan and Ricardo F. Asuncion. This was realized through the support of the late Barangay Chairman Renato Cipriano. It was then named Baggao National High School-Hacienda-Intal Annex.
Eventually, the newly-born school began its full operation in June 2000 with more than 70 students. The endeavor of writing history on empty pages was painstakingly done through the first two teachers: Librada Dulay and Rosaria Labudin
The problem on inadequacy of classrooms was rescued by the principal of the neighboring elementary school, Evelyn Asuncion, who allowed students to occupy their academic building for two years.
It was again through the help of the late Barangay Chairman Renato Cipriano, that the school was able to construct two new classrooms donated by the former mayor Delfin Ting of Tuguegarao City. It was named Dona Teresita Building, now considered as the first and oldest building of the institution
As years passed by, numerous changes, great improvements and remarkable developments happened. Enrollment had increased tremendously and in effect, the need for additional teachers and learning facilities were addressed
As a long-term result, the school gained its independence from its mother school in 2005. Thus, Hacienda-Intal National High School was officially reborn, still under the leadership of Ricardo F. Asuncion.
His administration traversed various trials and difficulties like a baby trying to stand and walk on his own such as improving the school physical facilities and infrastructure, hiring additional school teaching staff and intensifying rapport and linkages with the community..
In 2008, Olivia M. Vea was installed as the school principal whose leadership was marked by notable achievements and commendable accomplishments. She then retired in November 29, 2018 thus, the school was temporarily taken cared of by Jessie L. Miguel, who served as the officer-In-Charge for more than a year.
In March 1, 2020, the regained more strength and power when Santiago P. Villafuerte, Ph.D. was installed as the school principal who passionately served the school up to the present facing the battles brought about by the new normal.
Despite uncertainties, fears and changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Haciendal-Intal National High School is still at its best in conquering insurmountable challenges and discovering boundless opportunities in order to respond steadfastly to the DepEd vision mission.
