School Brief History and Background
Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School
Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School was established through the generosity of the Oringo family, who donated a 5,000-square-meter parcel of land for the school site. The initiative was spearheaded by former principal Mrs. Adela C. Anfone. The land title, under the name of Mr. Rolando U. Oringo, the family administrator, was formally turned over to then-Superintendent Ajatil P. Jairal in a ceremonial event attended by the donors.
Initially, the school operated without a permanent building. Its first 213 pupils were temporarily housed in the abandoned Chinese Institute of Agriculture (CIA) building, which had four roofless classrooms, exposing both students and teachers to harsh weather conditions. In School Year 1992–1993, a temporary makeshift building with six classrooms was constructed, improving learning conditions.
The school currently serves learners from sixteen (16) Puroks/Zones within and around Barangay City Heights, including: Purok Mangga, Valencia, Hermosa, Vergara, Tuazon, Paradise, Soriano, Toledo, Villa Consuelo, Purok 32 LC5/Dacera Bensonan, P.I. 16, Rogan, Panay, Matatag, Sta. Teresita, Johnny Ang Paradise, and Soledad Estate.
The school is now manned by a strong team of thirty-seven (37) dedicated teaching personnel, one (1) Administrative Officer, all under the leadership of a strategic and compassionate school principal who ensures the school’s continuous progress and learner-centered approach.
