Francisco Oringo Sr. ES Hosts Successful 1st Region XII Benchmarking on WinS Program
Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School (FOSES) successfully hosted the 1st Region XII Benchmarking on the WASH in Schools (WinS) Program, highlighting the school’s strong commitment to promoting safe, healthy, and child-friendly learning environments, January 16, 2026.
The activity was attended by WinS Coordinators from the different Schools Division Offices under Region XII, providing a meaningful platform for the exchange of best practices, innovations, and effective strategies in WinS implementation. The benchmarking aimed to further strengthen sanitation, hygiene, and health programs in schools across the region.
The event was led by Mina Fe S. Ruz, DMD, Region XII WinS Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of collaboration, shared leadership, and continuous improvement in ensuring the sustainability of the WinS Program. She commended the host school for its exemplary initiatives and readiness to serve as a model for other schools and divisions.
Participants engaged in school walkthroughs, presentations, and focused discussions that showcased the effective WinS practices of Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School, including improved water and sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion activities, and strong stakeholder involvement.
Sincere appreciation was extended to the dedicated teachers of FOSES and to their School Principal, Ma’am Rizza R. Valdez, P-IV for her decisive leadership in guiding the entire school team. Their commitment and teamwork were instrumental in the successful conduct of the regional benchmarking activity.
The school also expressed its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Mark David, WinS Coordinator of General Santos City, for choosing Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary School as the venue to showcase exemplary WinS practices. His trust and support provided FOSES the opportunity to highlight its initiatives and contribute to the strengthening of WinS implementation across Region XII.
The successful conduct of the 1st Region XII Benchmarking on the WinS Program reinforced the collective commitment of educators and stakeholders in Region XII to advancing quality education through improved school health, sanitation, and hygiene for the benefit of all learners.
