In an effort to improve the healthcare service system, on June 27, 2025, President BongBong Marcos declares the Veterans Access to Lifetime Optimized Healthcare (VALOR). This launched in the clinic of Fernando Airbase Hospital in Lipa City.
This project is a part of the VALOR Health Network Program. It aims to give a hand for the veterans in need of medical help such as preventive care, lab tests, imaging and telemedicine.
The said newly opened Clinic is a broader initiative brought by the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) to provide vital medical services for veterans and their families, especially those living outside of Metro Manila.
It reflects the government's continued efforts to emphasize the importance of healthcare. Especially to honor the contributions to the country of our beloved veterans.
This initiative fits with the President's dictation to upgrade and improve healthcare services for Filipino war veterans, retirees and their dependents.
This year, three more pilot clinics will be built in Taguig, Tarlac, and Lucena. It is said that they would keep expanding the program up until 2028 to secure more heathcare service for the veterans.
By extending services to other regions, the VALOR Clinic initiative not only enhances access to quality care for veterans but also helps to ensure more efficient and responsive healthcare delivery across the country.
Focusing on services across different levels of care, the VALOR Network hopes to improve patient outcomes and access to specialized services especially for the veterans.

Student leaders gathered for the Pagyabong 2026: 4th Batang Fernando Leadership Training held on March 12 at the Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School (FABINHS) Gymnasium, where invited resource speakers highlighted the school’s four core values and their role in shaping responsible leaders.
The training featured four speakers who shared insights on leadership, faith, decision-making, sustainability, and collaboration with the student participants.
The first session was led by Aneequa Louisse L. Burgos, Division Federation Supreme Student Learners Government (DFSSLG) president and Youth City Mayor from Lipa City Science Integrated National High School. Burgos emphasized the importance of faith and perseverance in leadership.
“We believe in God’s perfect timing,” Burgos said as she shared her experience of eventually winning as DFSSLG president and Youth City Mayor after losing in her bid for Supreme Secondary Learners Government (SSLG) vice president in Grade 10.
For the second session, Ma’am Alma Dimaano, assistant principal of FABINHS, spoke about decision-making and accountability among student leaders.
“A leader’s decisions create consequences not only for themselves—but also for the people they serve,” Dimaano said, reminding participants of the responsibilities that come with leadership positions.
Former SSLG president Sir Louijene Espinosa (2021–2022) facilitated the third session, focusing on sustainability and environmental responsibility. He encouraged student leaders to align their projects with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure long-term impact.
“Since you want the title, you might as well want the job,” Espinosa said, emphasizing that leadership requires action and commitment, not just recognition.
The fourth session was conducted by Ma’am Yvette L. Ablitas, SSLG adviser, who highlighted the importance of teamwork and collaboration in service.
“A leader is someone who makes his colleagues follow because they want to,” Ablitas said, underscoring the value of cooperation and mutual respect among student leaders.
Through the four sessions, the training aimed to strengthen the leadership skills and values of FABINHS student leaders, encouraging them to become responsible and service-oriented individuals.
With the theme of unity and empowerment, the event brought together speakers and participants with a shared goal: to develop empowered minds, united hearts, and leaders ready to serve the next generation.

Fernando Air Base, Batangas – June 9, 2025 — In a united effort to improve literacy and reading proficiency among students, Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School held a seminar and discussion session with parents to launch and promote Brigada Pagbasa, a nationwide initiative that aims to nurture the love for reading among Filipino learners.
The seminar, spearheaded by FABINHS Master Teacher Kathlyn Lim, emphasized the critical role that parents play in shaping their children's reading habits. Addressing the gathered parents and guardians, Lim passionately stated, “Mas malayo ang nararating ng batang nagbabasa, lalo na kung may magulang na kasama sa paglalakbay niya.”
Lim underscored the necessity of starting reading habits at home, explaining that while schools provide instruction, it is within the home environment where the foundation of lifelong reading habits is built. She highlighted how a parent’s involvement in their child’s learning journey significantly influences their reading development.
The seminar also touched on the sobering reality of the Philippines' current standing in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), where the country ranked low in reading comprehension. Lim cited this as a call to action for both educators and families to work closely together.
To help parents contribute more effectively, Lim shared practical tips on transforming their homes into literacy-friendly spaces. These included setting aside a regular reading time, minimizing distractions such as TV or mobile devices during reading hours, and providing age-appropriate reading materials. She also encouraged storytelling sessions and shared reading between parents and children as bonding opportunities that promote comprehension and vocabulary development.
The event marked a significant step in the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of reading and highlighted how collaboration between school and home can lead to more meaningful learning outcomes.
Brigada Pagbasa at Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School is set to continue through various reading activities, outreach programs, and sustained parent-teacher partnerships in the coming months.
June 9, 2025 – Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School (FABINHS) conducted an informative orientation program focused on school rules and regulations, aimed at reinforcing discipline among students. The event was held at the school’s covered court and attended by parents, students, and faculty members.
The orientation was led by Mr. Brian M. Lacerna, the Prefect of Discipline at FABINHS. In his talk, Mr. Lacerna emphasized the critical role of discipline in shaping responsible and respectful learners. He underscored that discipline is not only a school responsibility but also a shared commitment between the school and parents.
“Discipline starts at home,” Mr. Lacerna reminded the attendees. “When parents work hand in hand with the school, we are able to raise not only academically excellent students but morally upright individuals as well.”
Mr. Lacerna detailed the different types of student violations, categorizing them into minor and major offenses. He explained the corresponding sanctions for each type and stressed the importance of fairness and consistency in the implementation of school rules. The orientation aimed to ensure that both students and parents are well-informed of the policies to prevent future infractions and foster a positive learning environment.
To conclude the session, Mr. Lacerna called on the parents to take an active role in supporting the school’s discipline efforts. “Let us work together in instilling good manners and right conduct in our children,” he said. “With your guidance at home and our support in school, we can truly make a difference.”
The orientation served as a timely reminder of the importance of collaboration between educators and families in nurturing disciplined and value-driven students.
FABINHS-Bagwis led by club adviser Scouter Jay U. Sargento has been one of the busiest clubs in FABINHS during SY ‘23-24.
From their weekly crew and outfit meetings to their engagements from within and outside of campus all throughout the school year, the Benevolent Alliance With Genuine Wit and Interest in Scouting (BAGWIS) has instilled the values of good citizenship and patriotism in its members.
This school year, the organization spiked up its membership as it is now up by 30% compared to last school year’s already beefed-up registration.
But perhaps the most notable activity of BAGWIS was their Christmas outreach program aptly named “Share a Bread & Share A Drink” where the scouts distributed sandwiches and packed juices to street vendors, tricycle drivers and hardworking public servants around Taal Basilica.
Sargento said that this kind of activity imbues the values of charity and selflessness with the scouts. “I feel that our activities make the scouts experience and realize the importance of selflessness and patriotism,” Sargento said in an interview with Esquadron.
BAGWIS is still set to undertake a plethora of meaningful activities in the coming months.
June 15, at exactly 10:19 AM, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake was felt by students, teachers, and non-teaching employees of Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School.
The epicenter of the quake was 15 kilometers southwest of Calatagan at a depth of 119 kilometers, Phivolcs reported.
Proper evacuation was observed as students implemented the duck cover and hold procedure and then swiftly and safely proceeded to their safe holding areas. M FABINHS SDRRMC Chairman Ms. Angelica F. Olaso, and FABINHS SDRRMC Coordinator Mr. Patrick Africa supervised the said procedure.
About 40 students allegedly experienced panic attacks, while some experienced seizures. FABINHS- BAGWIS led by FABINHS Boy Scout Institutional Coordinator Mr. Jay U. Sargento spearheaded and supervised the implementation of First Aid treatments.
After about 30 minutes at the safe holding areas, and after an initial inspection of school infrastructure, the students and teachers were instructed to return to their classrooms.
Students who were still experiencing discomfort were tended to by their class advisers and the Boy Scouts, while the said students’ parents and guardians were asked to fetch them from the school clinic to their homes. Others with more serious and persisting symptoms were forwarded to nearby hospitals.
Medical personnel and volunteers from the Red Cross, Lipa City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Organization, and 1-TABAKKK (Guardians) arrived at the school and further examined and observed the recuperation of said patients.
The next day, the Lipa City Engineering Office observed minor damages on some buildings- all of which won't affect their structural integrity.
FABINHS' active participation in the NSED held every quarter did wonders for the students' quick and efficient response and evacuation.
FABINHS SSG Elections 2023 Simulate Real Life Voting Processes
Over 3,200 FABINHS students participated in the 2023 SSG Elections, June 6 at FABINHS Covered Court.
The SSG Commission on Elections, headed by FABINHS-SSG Adviser Yvette L. Ablitas, opted to simulate real-life elections to allow students to learn about how elections work and how candidates run for office.
The elections had all the works: from registering via signature and thumbprint to voting via digital tablets and securing the voting process by putting electoral ink on the fingernails of the voters.
Partial and unofficial results were also released during recess and lunchtime where Jose Enrique De Leon leads the presidential race.
The school election is one of the most important events in a student's life. The SSG aimed to ensure that students get the most out of their experience. Prior to election day, the SSG also hosted a miting de avance to familiarize voters with the future leaders of FABINHS.
Official results of the election will be announced later in the afternoon.
SDRRM Coor Hopes for Better Evac Time
Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School (FABINHS) participated in the 3rd quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill lead by the NDRRMC and Department of National Defense.
At exactly 9:00 AM, Senior High School students of FABINHS heard the emergency alarm and performed the Duck, Cover and Hold position inside their classrooms.
After the one minute alarm, students and teachers then quickly and safely proceeded to their designated holding areas as the rest of the SDRRM committees performed their respective tasks.
At the drill’s post conference, Mr. Patrick Africa, FABINHS- SDRRM Coordinator, pointed out the the whole evacuation duration lasted for four minutes and 36 seconds. Africa also shared that it is the SDRRM’s goal to shave at least 30 seconds off from the said time.
He also expressed his gratitude to the whole FABINHS community as the drill went on smoothly and according to plan.
School Head orients stakeholders on House Rules & Regulations on New Campus
After a 2 year lull, FABINHS once again opened its doors for in-person classes. Barangay Tambo residents are also expected to experience adjustments as school rolls out of military base and into residential neighborhood.
FABINHS GYM, Aug 18. With more than two years of distance learning now on the tail-end of its existence in majority of Philippine schools, Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School (FABINHS), headed by School Principal Ms. Angelica F. Olaso, conducted a State of the School Address (SOSA) cum orientation program on the upcoming in-person classes slated on Monday, August 22.
Expect Heavy Traffic
One of the salient points of the forum delved into the would-be heavy traffic situation at Basillio Fernando Air Base Civilian Schools Compound (BFABCSC) since FABINHS, a newly relocated school, would be opening its doors to 3,200+ students (a 14% increase compared to pre-pandemic enrolment) right beside residential neighborhoods.
Students hailing from Barangay Tambo and Barangay San Salvador will be dropped off at the BFABCSC main entrance. School buses from Tambo would then take a right turn at Magnolia Street (Dizon Ville) and exit at Gladiola Street to avoid gridlock with vehicles arriving from San Salvador
Class Schedule and Safety Standard
FABINHS will implement a three-day in-person and two-day modular distance learning program.
To carry out health protocols, FABINHS opted to have a 2-shift class scheme where the first batch of each class starts at 7:00 and ends at 11:00 AM while the succeeding batch from 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM.
“No Bag Challenge” a comic relief to “stressed” Batang Fernando
Batang Fernandos were a little too rowdy when the weird yet amusing school bag alternatives came in one by one. The students clapped, yelled, and cheered for their classmates who went crazy creative and extra-fun last November 18. The No-Bag Challenge is one of the first student activities that focused purely on stress relief and was deemed a needed event since the students feel bombarded by school works and the supposed academic break from Nov 1- Nov 2 was marred by Typhoon Paeng.
The No Bag Challenge, a trending activity among students all throughout the Philippines, has reached the Fernando Air Base Integrated National High School.
The amusing event was participated by hundreds of Batang Fernando who brought with them weird thingamajigs instead of the usual school bags.
As early as 6:00 AM, students started to come to school with weird contraptions: from objects readily found inside houses to creative DIY projects done overnight.
From Baskets to Washing Machines to everything in between. It was a memorable morning for non-participants as they cheered for their classmates who were given a chance to take the spotlight through grandiose, attention-catching entrances in the school grounds.
Among the “common” bags were beer cases (some replete with funny quotes like aral muna bago barik), bicycle wheel spokes, plastic dry boxes, CPUs, clothes hangers, and cookwares.
Some that stood out were the ones that nrought a full-sized rattan baby cradle, a working washing machine, and a cabinet replete with all the doors and drawers.
In the Name of Fun
This rather entertaining activity was spearheaded by the SSG and was done as part of 2022 FABINHS’ Students’ Day Celebration.
