Dr. Jose P. Rizal Elementary School (formerly DASMARIÑAS BAGONG BAYAN A-1 E/S) in Dasmariñas, Cavite, started as a small cogon shanty with one teacher in 1924. It faced closure in 1932 due to a fire and again during the Japanese occupation. The school reopened in 1951 as a complete elementary school, serving students from nearby barangays.
Early Years (1924-1932):
The school began in a humble setting and grew to a point where it had to be temporarily closed due to the burning of the school house.
Reconstruction and Growth (1934-1941):
After the fire, the school was rebuilt with two new buildings and classes resumed.
Wartime Disruption (Japanese Occupation):
During the Japanese occupation, the school was forced to close down as part of a centralization effort by the Muñoz District.
Reopening and Expansion (1951-Present):
The school reopened and became a complete elementary school, serving students from Cabisuculan, Franza, San Felipe, and San Andres. It has evolved into a school with 9 teachers, 9 sections, and 263 pupils.

The school has seen improvements to its physical facilities and other needs through the collaborative efforts of teachers, pupils, parents, and stakeholders.
