FOREWORD
Over the years, the Brigada Eskwela effort has evoked from a week-long cleaning-up as one beautification exercise to a festive coming together of pupils, teachers, school officials, parents, community members , local government officials, non-government organizations, church groups and the private sector. It’s too, has become one of DepEd’s major initiatives in enjoining local communities to respond to the needs of public schools and be a part of a nationwide effort towards improving Philippine Basic Education.
This was made possible by the hard work and determination of school heads in finding innovative ways to bring children to school, keep them there and ensure that they will learn.
Brigada Eskwela will not be what it is today if it were not for the strong leadership in our public schools. The spirit of cooperation pervades the whole time that the activity is being done.
Brigada Eswela creates a special bond between people. People who do not have anything in common, discover that that they have something in common after all. The community people find that they could be active contributors of improvements for the school. Being with the group, they could extend their helping hands for they are the fellow volunteers, likewise a school partners who showed generosity.
It takes a Brigada Eskwela to tap the hearts of potential donors and volunteers. Brigada Eskwela creates people that have the ability to share their lives with others especially to our school children.
This Year’s theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa maunlad na Paaralan” realized the people about the spirit, ‘bayanihan among Filipino people . This is to realize how good deeds can lead to Filipino culture which benefits not only to the school but the entire community since it is detached from the immediate community but an integral part of a whole.
