Research Breakthrough is the official research journal of the Schools Division of Capiz, produced through the Planning and Research Division. It came into life as one of the division's primary mechanism for research dissemination as part of its commitment of producing champion learners - holistically developed and future-ready learners who grows through meaningful learning, strong values, and supportive environments. It was also realized to uphold DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2017, which emphasizes that the utilization of research results is vital to improving learning outcomes, enriching teaching practices, and enhancing governance at all levels of the education system.

Through this publication, the Schools Division of Capiz affirms the indispensable role of research in deepening instructional effectiveness, informing sound decision-making, and supporting educational reforms. This journal also showcases the scholarly gains of DepEd personnel, both teaching and non-teaching, who have undertaken meaningful and relevant studies supported by the Basic Education Research Fund and features research findings anchored on priority agendas and emerging needs, offering evidence-based insights that strengthen policy implementation, program effectiveness, and the overall delivery of quality basic education.
This journal highlights rigorously reviewed scholarly works that contribute meaningfully to the Department's vision, mission, and goals and provide valid and reliable data that would help in finding immediate and sustainable solutions to the emerging problems inside the classroom and the school community. It serves as a valuable reference for basic education researchers, instructional leaders, and classroom practitioners seeking innovative strategies, contextualized interventions, and evidence-informed approaches that can be adapted in schools and districts. It likewise provides education planners and policymakers with research-based perspectives essential for improving service quality, identifying gaps, and exploring less-studied priority areas.
