KMT gears up for One Deped, One QMS

DepEd Order 009 s. 2021 titled Institutionalization of Quality Management System  in the Department of Education, mandates all DepEd offices across governance levels to align, integrate, and streamline office functions, systems and processes.

As an innovative action, DepEd SOCCSKSARGEN Region initiated a knowledge management system dubbed as Knowledge Management Portal and Repository that serves as data bank of documented information.  The system features an automatic generation of a unique QR code for every document enrolled or registered.  The QR code contains information that can be used for tracing and verification purposes. It is designed with a back-up system where documents can still be accessed offline.  An online feedback platform is a special feature of the system for suggestions from the clients for continuous improvement. 

The knowledge management system (KMS) is the underlying infrastructure that supports the organization's efforts to manage knowledge, information and related processes. The KMS provides a repository for information, and supports access to, retrieval, and analysis of this information. A primary goal of the KMS is to provide a framework for managing knowledge in an organization while ensuring that it is accessible by all employees in the company.

Accessibility is one of the concerns of the end-users of the KMS Portal and Repository. With the aid of the system it is easy for them to access needed documents.  Further, the KMS Portal and Repository has displayed efficiency in terms of time and document management. 

KMS Portal and Repository is a turnkey system that caters all-in-one data management that is compliant to document information management procedures and work instructions manual.  It provides easy access to documents needed, and it also saves time and energy for the end-users as the KMS repository is user-friendly.

The system was developed with a higher level of productivity, efficiency and effectiveness. With its added features it helps the clienteles to perform their tasks-well.

With KMS, governance is made flexible using e-portal as potential source of data and information which can be good inputs to sound decision-making.
