OVERVIEW AND HISTORY
Bulawan National High School is one of the National secondary schools in the Municipality of Lapuyan, province of Zamboanga del Sur. It is situated at Barangay Bulawan, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur. It is bounded by Bulawan San Miguel Elementary School on the East side, Sayog Elementary School on the North side, on the South by Molum Elementary School and on the West by Salambuyan Elementary School.
The school founded in 2000 through the effort and initiative of the former Barangay Captain Indelisio Lantig together with the Barangay Officials. The land area was bought by the Barangay Councils and donated to Bulawan Extension Class.
The institution was legally operate as Lapuyan NHS- Bulawan Extension Class on June 2000, and was officially inaugurated as Bulawan National High School on October 2010. The first TIC was Mr. Richard V. Lebita, a borrowed teacher from Lapuyan National High School until such time that he was replaced by Mr. Roland H. Dagandang, HT-III.
Bulawan National High School caters the students from the neighboring barangays like Bulawan and Tapian of San Miguel District, and Bulawan, Molum, Salambuyan, and Sayog of Lapuyan District.
Bulawan National High School is now on its 18th year of uplifting the literacy level of the youth and committed to continue in becoming individuals a productive, industrious, and God-fearing Filipinos.
At present (SY 2018—2019), it has a total populace of 359 with 19 Plantilla teachers of which five (5) of them are borrowed from other school within the district. This school year, the school offering Senior High School Program with a track/strand of TVL—Agri-Fishery Arts (AFA) combination 1: Agri-Production NC-I + Agri-crop Production NC-II.
