Every school has its own story to tell. The context in which teaching, and learning takes place influences the processes and procedures by which the school makes decisions around curriculum, instruction, and assessment as well as the ancillary services it offers. The context also impacts the way a school stays faithful to its vision and mission.
Batia High School is a reputable public high school in Northville V, Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan. In full compliance with DepEd Order No. 1 s. On November 4, 2013, RA 9155 Batia High School was granted a permit to operate. It offers a complete Junior High School Course under Government Permit No. S-048 s. 2013. The school is located next to Northville V Elementary School and has a total lot area of 1,090 square feet. m., with a two-storey, six-classroom structure serving learners from Batia Elementary School, St. Martha Elementary School, and Northville V Elementary School.
The school population grew dramatically as a result of its location in the heart of a relocation area. A few years after it opened, another two-storey six-classroom building was built to accommodate the unprecedented increase in enrollment.
On its fifth year of operation, an extension campus was established at AFP-PNP Grandville Subdivision, Tambubong, Bocaue, Bulacan, because the available lot no longer had room for expansion. The extension campus was blessed with a three-storey fifteen-classroom building that catered to Grade 7 and 8 learners because they had the most enrollees at the time.
The school has provided holistic quality education to students from various backgrounds over the years. The majority of the students are poor, if not the poorest, members of society. Even before the pandemic, some of the most pressing issues confronting BHS students were malnutrition, a lack of family support, juvenile delinquency, early pregnancy, and drug-related problems. Water scarcity, a lack of health-care facilities, insufficient electricity, and a slow internet connection made matters worse. It worsened during the pandemic, resulting in a decrease in enrollment and the tendency of some students to transfer to a nearby public high school that provides a more convenient space and location.
Regardless of the challenges and obstacles that the school continues to face, the entire teaching and non-teaching personnel of the school never consider givingup on doing its best to serve the Batia High School learners. Taking every opportunity and utilizing all available resources, the school continued its quest to better serve the Batia HS learners and provide them with the quality education they deserve. With undying faith, fervent hope, and complete trust in the Lord's Divine Providence, the school looks forward to achieving its vision and mission to RISE with PRIDE for Batia High School and to give glory and honor to God Almighty, who made all things possible for the school.
