1. Geography
Bangkal Elementary School is situated in a relocation site which was eventually named Northville 8. The school is five kilometers away from the city proper which can be reached through a jeep and a tricycle or E-trike. Because of its terrain, only flood and tropical cyclones are the natural hazards that affect the area.
2. Teachers
Teachers who play a very vital role in the institution are continuously being nourished through relevant seminars and trainings. Some of them are pursuing graduate school courses to attain professional growth. These are proofs that the teachers of Bangkal Elementary School are doing their best to make themselves competent in order to effectively deliver basic education to the children of Bangkal.
3. Learning Environment
The school is doing its best to provide a conducive learning atmosphere for every learner.
4. Children’s Health and Safety
The school has established the School Child Protection Committee to promote safe and protective practices based on the DepEd’s policy on Child Protection in School.
5. Priority Improvement Projects
Knowledge and skills acquisition will not be possible for the pupils if the physical facilities are insufficient. Thus, the problems in relation to the said facilities are continuously being addressed through the help of various stakeholders such as the General Parent-Teacher Association, Sangguinang Barangay, City Government of Malolos, and Provincial Government of Bulacan.
Bangkal Elementary School is located in the northeast of the City of Malolos. It has a total land area of 102 hectares, of which 70% (71.4 hectares) are devoted to rice fields, 19% to (19.38 hectares) to agro-residential use, and 11% (11.22 hectares) to residential use.
Bangkal has a terrain composed mainly of alluvial soil which makes it a suitable and ideal land to grow rice. The richness of its soil did not only serve as a perfect paddy for rice but as well as a relocation site for the people who were forced to leave their residences along McArthur Highway to give way to the NORTHRAIL project of the government. This gave birth to Northville 8 Resettlement Site in Bangkal.
Due to the differences in their cultural backgrounds, misunderstandings arose among the first residents of Northville 8. Violence had been rampant and rumbles had taken place here and there. These incidents left Bangkal with a negative image for a while. However, through effective governance, communication, and compromise among the residents, Bangkal has turned into the safe and sound community it is today.
In 2006, Bangkal Elementary School was established through the initiative of the city government of Malolos and the support of Vice President Noli de Castro. This was done to ensure that the relocated residents would have an easy access to basic education.
Mr. Felipe V. Dela Cruz took the challenge of being the very first principal of Bangkal Elementary School. Alongside him were seventeen equally competent teachers who devoted their time and expertise to educate a total number of 1, 200 learners in the newly established institution.
After six years of hard work and passion, Mr. Dela Cruz received a new school assignment. He then passed the administrative power to Mr. Dennis C. Robles who continued the good works. During his administration, two additional buildings were constructed to accommodate a total number of 2, 199 learners. However, after a year of administrative service, Mr. Robles had to leave the school for a new station appointment.
The seven years of patriarchal management at Bangkal Elementary School ended as Mrs. Murita T. Adriano took over as the new school principal in 2013. Mrs. Adriano had to stretch her arms even more widely to provide a matriarchal management for the continuous improvement of the school. Together with a total number of 59 teaching and 4 non-teaching personnel, Mrs. Adriano spearheaded the paving of way towards quality and equitable education for all the residents of Bangkal.
In July 2018, Mrs. Adriano had to express her heartfelt adieu as she had to be reassigned to another school after 5 years of public service at Bangkal Elementary School. Mr. Atilano G. Briones then took over as the new school head of Bangkal.
In just a few months, Mr. Briones was able to evaluate various school problems that needed immediate attention. He made sure to provide long-term solution to each problem and initiated effectual programs that sought to empower student learning and instructional competence among teachers. With the battle cry, “Husay, Galing, at Talino: Isusulong Ko!” Mr. Briones continues to promote quality education through the improvement of physical facilities, strengthening of teachers’ professional development, and conduct of relevant and reflective school-based programs for the learners of Bangkal.
