One of the most pressing problems of schools, specially teachers in the new normal of education due to pandemic is lack if printing materials to be used in preparing Self Learning Modules (SLM's). Teacher's personal printers have been used and over used due to voluminous number of copies needed for distribution to learners. These personal printers if teachers eventually gave in after numerous visits to repair shops. Teachers had to spend most of their time even at night just to meet required number of SLM's for distribution to learners.
This priority concern was brought to the attention of the LGU -Baggao as one of our very supportive stakeholder through the Local Chief Executive Hon. Mayor Joan C. Dunuan together with all the SB members headed by the Hon. Vice mayor Rowel Gazmen. Luckily, they felt and sympathized with the sacrifices of teachers which prompted them to donate 3 digital copier machines with Php 30,000.00 intended for toner.
With these donations, printing was made easier and faster thus teachers could focus more in instruction, monitoring learners, checking retrieved modules, summative tests, performance tasks, computing grades, accomplishing needed reports and many other related tasks required of them.
I am a person who used to take even serious things lightly. This should be a positive attitude because it is a manifestation of resiliency, but in the light of the present pandemic, this should be discouraged.
I was not actuated by the that alarming news that many people were getting infected and even dying because of Covid 19. In the first place, i did not believe in the severity of the said disease. For me, it is just an ordinary influenza which can be easily controlled even by ordinary over-the counter (OTC) drugs or medicines.
Although I used to observe the minimum health and safety standards like wearing face mask, face shield, social distancing and the like, I only did follow these not because I wanted to protect myself from this infectious disease but just to show to my fellow Filipinos that I am a law-abiding citizen.
My stubbornness or indifference to the things happening around me was actually changed when one day, the last day of December 2020, I got infected by this horrible disease. January 1, 2021 new year's day It was a memorable day for me because the early morning of that day, I was taken to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC). My case was totally different because what struck me was a critical Covid pneumonia. Because of my critical condition due to the very low oxygen level in my body, my attending doctors and nurses have to connect me to a ventilator for longer time. I stayed in the said hospital for 22 days.
