Abulug National Rural and Vocational High School is cradled in the middle of the lush green mountaintop forests of Sitio Langay , Barangay Banguian, in the municipality of Abulug providing a safe and healthy environment for learning and honing talents and lifelong skills particularly technical-vocational .
As one family, we take pride in living up to the conviction that here, “TOGETHER We Can Make it Happen, TOGETHER We Can Make a Difference.” and that we pledge to make every effort to take the students on a voyage to self-discovery by embracing competence in teaching the necessary and much needed wisdom, knowledge and skills essential for success in the future. Inclusively, we aim for the holistic development of every learner physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually by exposing them to diverse activities and experiences that will eventually bring out the best in them as they will be prepared on how to overcome life’s challenges.
Further, let me take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our stakeholders, especially Parents and Alumni for the continued trust and support, and selfless sacrifices for the sake of our children and the progress of our school. Schools Division Office of Cagayan Search for Best in Teaching Modalities
Pinote: Champion in Online Teaching Junior High School category
Junior High School Teacher Janette M. Pinote of Abulug National Rural and Vocational High School was the champion in Online Teaching Junior High School category of the Search for Best in Teaching Modalities during the 120th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the Schools Division Office of Cagayan after topping the district and congressional eliminations in separate dates of this monh.
Pinote received her Certificate of Recognition during the Awarding Rites at the Schools Division Office of Cagayan, Regional Government Center, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on July 19, 2021 with the presence of SDO's Cagayan top honchos Schools Division Superintendent Orlando E. Manuel, Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Wilma C. Bumagat and Chelo C. Tangan together with School Governance and Operations Division Chief Romel L. Libang.
The soft-spoken science teacher expressed her gratitude to the ANRVHS family, her own family and all the others who supported , trusted and encouraged her to join the contest.
"Maraming, maraming maraming salamat po mga kapamilya. Ang tagumpay pong ito ay tagumpay nating lahat!" she said.

Mr. Mark Angelo S. Binarao, Senior High School Teacher II of Abulug National Rural and Vocational High School and Ms. Hilda D. Cabagui, Principal II of Alinunu Elementary School were Mr. Hope (3rd Prince) and Ms. Peace (2nd Princess), respectively during the Search for King and Queen of Schools Division Office of Cagayan.
They stepped through the red carpet during the Coronation Rites held at SDO Cagayan Hall on July 21 which highlighted the 120th Founding Anniversary of the Division Office of Cagayan bannered with the theme “Taking Bold Steps Forward, Amplifying Her Glorious Past into Bolder Present for a Brighter Future.

Project ENCIONG launched at ANRVHS
In response to the pressing issues of environmental problems and to keep alive the legacy of the late Hon. Florencio L. Vargas, project E.N.C.I.O.N.G. (Environmental Nurturing and Comprehensive and Intensive Observance of Nature’s Greening) was launched on January 28 at the Abulug National Rural and Vocational High School.
Due to the series of massive flooding in Cagayan particularly in the municipality of Abulug, the suppose November 7 Arbor Day was not pushed through until January 28 with all public servants: municipal and local officials, teachers, both from public and private elementary and high schools , and the police force of Abulug in attendance.
Hon Jesus Florencio A. Vargas, the local chief executive, along with his father, Vice-Mayor Jesus Emmanuel P. Vargas, descendants of the great “Old Man” or “Lakay Enciong”, led the celebration.
Sponsoring the ordinance approved by the legislative body on October 2019 that founded the celebration , was Sangguniang Bayan member, Hon. Bob Cabagui
Under Section 5 of this ordinance, Florencio L. Vargas Arbor Day and Environmental Day shall be held on the 7th day of November each year and as such shall be a Public Non-working Holiday in the whole municipality of Abulug.
Section 8 states that there shall be tree- planting activities in any of the following areas in the municipality: a) Public School grounds, gardens or other available areas within the school premises; b) Idle or vacant public lands; c) Public Parks and; d) Private Lots with consent of the owner.
Under Section 9, there shall be a CLEAN Up- Drive in all the barangays, riverbanks, sea coasts or areas near waterways, and public parks and vacant lots.
Further, the same ordinance encourages all able-bodied residents of Abulug who are at least twelve (12) years of age shall plant one (1) tree each year and join the activities.
In his speech, Hon. Bob Cabagui remembers the “Legend” saying “There is a need to protect and conserve our environment in order for us and the future generations to live.”
“Let us be one in recognizing the significance of this cause and let live in our hearts the legacy and advocacy of a great leader whose love and services for all has no boundaries.” Cabagui concluded.
Meanwhile, to entertain the audience and to pay tribute to the “old man” a poem rendition plus song and dance numbers were presented before the highlight of the occasion: the tree-planting activity.
