In 1969, Dampol 2nd Barrio High School opened its door to the less priviledged youth of Dampol 2nd A and its neighboring barangays. The late Mayor Arsenio Sulit, Councilor Vidal Esguerra, Mr. Paulo Caleon and some concerned barangay officials spearheaded the plan. For many members of the preceding generation, going to high school was only a dream. With the foundation of Dampol 2nd Barrio High School, the dream has become a reality to the succeeding generations.
The school began with 65 students and two teachers. Enrollment increased rapidly and additional teachers were hired. The school offered limited rooms only. The rooms that were built were Marcos Type and Bagong Lipunan. There were also rooms donated by the Parents & Teachers Association (PTA).
Before the school was nationalized, students had paid their tuition fees and the salary of teachers came from the local fund. By virtue of the Republic Act No. 6655-Section 7 otherwise known as Free Secondary Education Act of 1988, Dampol 2nd Barangay High School became Dampol 2nd National High School.
