Way back in 19th Century, Cabbo is still a hunting place, because of its thick forest. During those years there were two hunters who came from the lowland place and led their way to hunt, they encounter a two (2) Kabkab bird eating guava fruit with many guava trees with bearing fruits around so they combined the name “Cabcab” and “Bayabo” so they called the place Cabbo.
In the year 1910 hunters begun to stay permanently in the area with the increase in its population and it became a barangay.
“CABBO” as the registered name of the barangay through the first “Tiniente del Bario” with the late PEDRO BANGAYAN SR.
The rapid growth of population from 1960 – 1980 was brought about by the development of irrigation project and opening of the barangay road connecting to National Highway through the administration of the late Mayor Cesar Romero. Public utilities and other vehicles began to play the area.
It was 1998 – 1999 when Cabbo National High School Annex was established with the total enrollees of 71 – 36 males and 35 females. For the year 2000 – 2001 it has a total enrollees of 156 with 84 males and 72 females.
In the year 2000 the electrification of southern barangays particularly barangay Cabbo was installed through the administration of the Municipal Mayor Washington M. Taguinod.
Today, Cabbo is relatively one of the progressive barangays of Peῆablanca, some of the people here are now using cellular phones and other technological equipment for the development of the barangay and its people.
