Callungan Elementary School is located at the center part of barangay Callungan, where most means of livelihood of the community is farming and livestock raising. The total land area is more or less, hectare. Its surrounding and backyard is ideal for planting rootcrops like Camote, Cassava, gabi etc. The only problem is the perimeter fence both sides is not yet constructed due to lack of fund. Astray animals sometimes can just come and go that’s why plants being planted were destroyed.

During our meeting with the PTA officers with the leadership of our Head Teacher, we planned of constructing the perimeter fence the eastern and western part of the school. We recalled the Alumni per School year and we assigned a coordinator to distribute the solicitation letter and collect to be handed in to the school treasurer. While waiting, for the distribution of the solicitation letter,the teaching staff and theory families have given their share to start up the said project.

John Dewey expounded that “Education is a continuous process”. In education we need not to focus and limit only to the four walls of our classroom but there’s a need to go out for better application of the theories and knowledge learned during the teaching learning process. Sometimes it is of great importance to expose the learners to different learning experiences to expose the learners to different learning experiences and variety od personalities for them to explore the outside world where the exist. Whenever we had programs on different celebration we put up a tent in front of our stage just accommodate participants, parents and community. Sometimes awarding of ribbons and certificates every grading period is done under the shady trees, at the corridor and even inside our classrooms most especially when it rains.

In December 2019 the teaching staff together with the PTCA officers and members held a meeting the Agenda on putting up a mini-gymnasium. With the leadership of our School Head we thought of having fun while undergoing Christmas program. It is so called the 100 Smiles. Solicitation letters for the sponsors was prepared, and each teacher and PTCA had a qoata of letter to distribute. It is a part of our Christmas Celebration and activities tp give our pupils and parents free foods and bring home a jolly pack Spaghetti for Christmas. Through the joint cooperation and camaraderie we were able to raise P 65,000.00. As part of the celebration we also had a Coronation Program where the pinners and coronators also extended their love to CES in the amount of more or less P 20,000.00. Through God’s blessing our dream of constructing a mini-gymnasium had materialize.
