Bical Elementary School, The School of Achievers
Bical was formerly a wilderness thickly covered with forest and drained by creeks and the Abaca River. Being covered with forest, it makes a nice dwelling for wild pigs, deer, and other animals and birds. Hunters from nearby towns and barrios came to hunt. Some hunters took interest to sojourn in the said place but on account on the virgin soil, they made it their permanent residence.
It took them a hard time to clear the space because the forest was thickly covered with bical (a sort of plant boho-like in structure). It was so full of bical that these hunters went to get their relatives to help them clear the forest. When their relatives ask them where they are going they would answer “Cabicalan”. Then later on, they made it short and called the place Bical. That’s how Bical got its name.
