Body Mass Index (BMI)
Body Mass Index (BMI) is the customary method used to measure school children's nutritional status. It's a calculation of weight-to-height ratio and can provide insight into risk for diseases. While BMI can't be used as a sole indicator for disease risk, it does help. It's one element of wellness that helps everyone manage their health. By conducting the BMI for all the learners in the school every year, we will know to which group we should concentrate the health awareness programs.
