" The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future life."

After the liberation of the Philippines from the invading forces of the Japanese Imperial Army, the Filipinos who evacuated to escape the atrocities of the Japanese forces returned to their homes.

One day, a seventy-five(75) years old man named Luis Macopia went to sitio "KIMMALLUGUNG" in the eastern part of the municipality to pasture his carabaos. The skies were cloudy and because he was tired and hungry, he rested under an arosip tree and ate his lunch. After eating his lunch, he lie down and fell asleep, it rained heavily followed by flashes of lightning and roaring thunder. He was so frightened. He woke up and tried to get his rain gear made of anahaw leaf but because he was very much frightened he became very much unconscious. In his vision, Luis saw a beautiful lady in long white gown and in her waist a belt with red, white and yellow laces holding a symbol of liberty in her right hand.

When Luis gained consciousness, he slowly opened his eyes , and behold standing beside him was an enchanted beautiful lady. She smiled at him and instructed him in vernacular "AMA AGAWID KAN KET IPADAMAG MO ITI NAMATMATAM KANIAK. IBAGAM KADAGITI BUMARIO NGA IYARAMIDAN DAK ITI PAGNAEDAK TA AGNAED NAK TU KADAKUADA NGA AGNANAYON, NO SAAN DA NGA IPATEG DAYTOY KET ADDAN TU SUMANGBAY A RIGAT WENNO DIDIGRA A DAKKEL KAS KADAGITI SAKSAKIT TI TATTAO KEN DAGITI ANIMALES DA". Father go home and tell what you have seen in me. Tell the barrio folks to construct a house where I can dwell with them to make a statue. This is my command and remember this because this is powerful and very important. If they will not heed of this, there will be a great suffering and calamities to the people. Pestilence will also come, and the enchanted lady returned and said, "Father remember and tell the people what you have seen and heard including my name STA. BARBARA." after that , the old man spread the news and the Tiniente del Barrio named Vicente Agpaua convened an emergency meeting and informed the people of what happened. the strong faith and the whole hearted belief they had with the information from the Tiniente Del Barrio, they agreed to follow instructions relayed, but due to the unavailability of a site wherein a vhapel can be built, the Tinente del Barrio solicited from the group of parcel of land for the said purpose and it was Balatazar Pascual who volunteered and donated a place for a chapel to built in. Thereafter they planned the activities to be undertaken and one of the first move they have to do is to go to the forest to cut trees for the preparation for the lumber needed. People from the adjacent barangays who came to know about the matter also provided assistance in the procurement of needed materials and helped in the construction of the chapel. The cooperation and unity of the people made it possible for the construction of the chapel and also molding the image of STA. BARBARA.

Finally the Tiniente del BArrio called again a meeting to pan for the inauguration. He likewise , informed the parish priest and Alcalde Joseph Cabedo. The parish priest christened the image of "STA. BARBARA" during the inauguration held on April 30.
