Professional Teachers as Lifelong Learners

Education is a never-ending process. It is a continuous lifelong process in which teachers are considered career-long learners or lifelong learners.
Being a lifelong learner plays a significant role in the education process. This is the reason behind teacher’s engagement in professional growth and development to enhance their competencies and keep abreast to the fast changing world which offers various challenges.
With such herculean task of teachers, professional development is one of the ways on how a teacher upgrade himself to the constantly changing dynamics of the education system. Professional development brings opportunities for teacher’s holistic advancement in his teaching.
By undergoing training development and educator will grow more in teaching and become more responsible in understanding to context of the teaching profession. Moreover such ways will have an essential contribution most to the core of the curriculum.
As teachers keep acquiring skills, new knowledge and developing competencies, personal as well as professional development continues which make them lifelong learners. Both personal and professional development bring out lifelong learners.
How to become life long learners? Attitude and action are key instruments to make teachers lifelong learners. The following shall be observed by teachers:

The existence of Covid 19 has brought a huge change in the education system where learners learn at home using different learning modalities. Embracing this change brought by the pandemic, Capitan Elementary School adhered to the department’s Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BELCP) in which the school launched it’s Project CES GO.
Project CES GO (Community School Partnership Essential for Strengthening Greater Learning Opportunities) is the first project of the school amidst the Pandemic initiated by the School Officer-In- Charge, Pamela Jane B. Binayug. It is in support to the call for Great Partnership and Shared Responsibilities of Stakeholders to ensure continuity of learning. It highlights amicable relationships and noble tasks to help learners acquire competencies for their growth and development. It was introduced during the BELCP Orientation of Stakeholders.
The Project strengthens parents involvement as knowledge bearers. It supports the school in providing enough resources for the delivery of modular learning. There are pledges of different stakeholders like the Barangay Officials headed by Hon. Randy Lorenzo as well as the GPTA Officers headed by Hon. Renee Manuel, to help make project CES GO a success. Others also shared donations and took part is the school activities like Clean-Up Drive to achieve the goals for the Project.
The whole Teaching Staff shared their gratitude as they also took their noble part in the accomplishment of Project CES GO. The shared partnership manifested by both internal and external stakeholders is a proof that no Pandemic can hinder the continuity of learning. Its all for Capitan Elementary School clienteles.
