Naddungan Elementary School: "Winner of Journalism and MTAP"
During the Japanese regime, informal education was held in big houses by a lone teacher, Miss Maria Ancheta. She taught combination classes grades I and II. In 1937, Naddungan Community School was built at the Southern Part of Naddungan which is now a part of Barbarit. Due to rapid growth of population, the whole populace of Naddungan spearheaded by Teniente Del Barrio Albino Raza decided to put up another school at the northern part of Naddungan School children continue to increase so they decided to extend one room for Grade III and IV handled by the late Mrs. Agapita Manibog.The school was named Naddungan Primary School and was headed by Mrs. Natividad Mendoza handling Grades I and II. In the year 1997, the Local Government Unit headed by Mayor Ramon C. Nolasco, the District Supervisor of Gattaran East District, Miss Fely C. Lattao, the community headed by Brgy. Capt. Luz Jacqueline Aguinaldo, faculty members headed by Mrs. Mercedita M. Raza worked hand in hand to open up a complete elementary school. At present, Naddungan Elementary School continues to grow in terms of physical and academic aspects. The school is now headed by a Head Teacher III, Mrs. Mercedita M. Raza with 8 teachers and 166 pupils.
