Barangay Paruddun Norte is located at the western side of the town of Aparri in the province of Cagayan. The town of Aparri as of today is divided into two; the eastern part and the western part. The barangay Paruddun Norte is situated at the western part. With pertains to educational zones, it is divided into three; the Aparri East Educational Zone, Aparri South Educational Zone and the Aparri West Educational Zone.
One of the concerns of the government is education, and every barangay must to have an institution for this concern. To cater the school children of the community people, the leaders of the barangay thought of putting up a school. Since there was no enough fund, the first school was in a residential house at the Bordey Residence and later on transferred to Tabalno’s residence. Years later, somehow during the1940’s, a concerned citizen in the person of Mr. Melchor Villegas, who was then the barangay captain at that time, donated a lot to build a complete elementary school and it was named, Paruddun Norte Community School. The buildings were all made of local materials found in the community. Since nearby barangays in Aparri West have no school yet, the school children in these communities came to study in Paruddun Norte Community School. To mention some of the barangays were Bukig, Mabanguc, Backiling, Bangag, and Paruddun Sur. When there was an aid from the government, the school buildings were repaired as semi-concrete buildings and finally the community school transformed to a Central School. It became the central of all school activities in the western part of Aparri. But then Aparri East and Aparri West were still one district under the baton of Mrs. Jesusa Maquiraya as the District Supervisor.
Due to the increase in population, Aparri was then divided into 2 districts; the Aparri I and Aparri II.The first District Supervisor of Aparri II was Mr. Pedro Bucaneg followed by Mr. Pedro Cardenas, Mr. Pedro Aurelio, Mr. Pedro Cabatan respectively and finally was Mr. Pedro T. Usita. During the time of Mr. Pedro Usita as the District Supervisor, it was the time when the centralship was transferred to Bukig ( Aparri West Central School) and that Paruddun Norte Central School became Paruddun Norte Elementary School. Aparri II also became Aparri West District.
Paruddun Norte Elementary School performed excellently since it was still the Central School till now that it’s only a barangay school. The honors achieved since then were a legacy of its pioneer teachers. These achievements were being multiplied year after year with the devoted services of its teachers then and now with the utmost dedication of the School Heads who led the school since it became a barangay school. The following were the school heads of Paruddun Norte Central School; Miss Patrocinia Sable,Principal; Mrs. Agripina Cabatan, Principal; and Mrs. Adelaida Quines, Principal. Paruddun Norte Elementary School has the following school heads; Mr. Constancio Tapia, Principal; Mr. Feliciano Maramag Sr., Principal II, Mr. Richard M. Pastor, Ph.D., Principal II and at present is Mrs. Noemi Y. Maximo, Principal II.
All through the years calamities invaded the school. School buildings were destroyed but with the concerted efforts of the school leaders with the stakeholders, all were returned to its normal structure. Constructions and repairs were done successfully.
