A donation is a gift for charity, humanitarian aid , or to benefit a cause. A donation may take various forms including money, services or goods.
Most schools ask parents to pay a specific sum of money towards running the school and providing additional services for students. This is normally called a school donation, and is a way of parents contributing to the school by topping up government funding.
