“Put your heart, mind, intellect, and soul, even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success.”
– Swami Sivananda
The summative assessment aims to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark. Summative assessments are often high stakes, which means that they have a high point value.
CKES Learners were administered the test to determine their mastery and if they attained the targets enlisted in the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs).
IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT ZERO N2
(ZEST FOR EXCELLENCE ROAD TO NON-NUMERATES)
Caoayan Kiling Elementary School aligns its objective to the SDO SCC’s Project Zero N2 which aims to make teaching Mathematics fun and engaging, improve the numeracy skills of Primary Grade Learners, and build the Learners’ confidence through easy and fun Mathematics Activities.
Literacy and numeracy help people gain the fundamental skills necessary to achieve success in life. Numeracy, like literacy, is key for learners to access and make sense of their world. Quantifying and measuring their environment in different ways will help them to make wiser judgements about the kind of actions to take in their lives.
CKES inculcates a love for Mathematics in children to lose their fear of it as a subject and develop an appreciation of it. Teachers in this Learning Area are well-versed and competing at a higher level producing young Mathematicians.
“The best way to drive performance in an organization is to create an environment in which information can flow freely, mistakes can be highlighted, and help can be offered and received.”
― Simon Sinek
INSET allows educators to acquire professional goals for the success of the school as a whole and increase the current level of knowledge and skills in their target areas. It will help mobilize teachers towards a modernized way of teaching and orient them on the latest trends in the teaching industry.
Following DepEd’s annual implementation of the Mid-Year In-Service Training, Caoayan Kiling Elementary School held its school-based training to facilitate learning opportunities for the teacher with the theme “Teachers’ Continuous Development for Better Learning Outcomes” from February 6-10, 2023. With the support of the current school head, Edgar M. Samera, and the leadership of INSET Focal Person, Richelle A. Tamayo, CKES successfully implemented the said event.
“Scouting rises within you and inspires you to put forth your best” -Juliette Gordon Low
Indeed, Scouting provides young learners to participate in in activities, events, programmes and projects that contribute to their growth as active Filipino citizens. In line with this, it aims to teach and practice Scouting Skills in the children’s local environment. It is also an important occasion for the rededication of the Scout Promise & Law for the children from the age groups KID/Twinkler (Kinder), KAB/Star (Grades I-III), Boy Scout/Girl Scout (Grades IV-VI).
With the two year hiatus of conducting scouting activity, Caoayan Kiling Elementary School successfully conducted its School-based Backyard Camporal and Encampment last November 18-22, with BSP theme “Sustaining Growth” and GSP theme “Be Prepared: Girl Scouts in Action”.
Kid, Twinkler, Kab and Star also participate on scouting activity on November 19, 2022 with the theme Playday on which they learned to do their best and be happy.

“One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.” – Malala Yousafzai
Teachers’ Day is being celebrated by Caoayan Kiling Elementary School with immense zeal on the 5th of October 2022, culminating a month-long event in the country’s National Teacher’s Month that started on the 5th Day September 2022. It is a day to pay respect to the teachers and thank them for the efforts and hard work they put in every day, all around the year, to nurture the learners.
Every school comes up with different activities to celebrate this special day and at CKES everyone is engaged and cooperated for the success of this celebration. Some of the common activities that form a part of the Teachers’ Day celebration in schools include enacting the part of one’s favorite teacher, dance performances, skits, and talent/skills showcases. The teachers are made to sit comfortably as an audience while the learners give these performances to entertain them and add joy to this special day.
Teachers are of CKES made to play games such as passing the message, charades, and dancing like TikTok mash-ups to add to the fun element. This creates an atmosphere of joy and laughter. The GPTA also organize activities allowing teachers and learners to collaborate and work as a team.
Teachers’ Day is certainly the day that offers a respite from the mundane school routine and allows indulging in light, joyful activities. It is a wonderful time to strengthen the learner-teacher bond.
