The Tenzer Technology Center is enabled by an interdisciplinary network of creative and enthusiastic staff, students and faculty. Additionally, there are countless faculty and staff partners, a large cohort of ITAP student interns, and other DePauw students doing impactful work.

MEET THE STAFF

MICHAEL BOYLES, DIRECTOR

A lifelong resident of central Indiana, Boyles has spent his entire professional career working with visualization technologies in collaboration with students and faculty in a university setting. He worked his way from programmer/analyst to manager of Indiana University’s Advanced Visualization Lab. In 2018, he joined DePauw University as the inaugural director of the Tenzer Technology Center. Boyles leads DePauw's digital fluency effort; develops and teaches courses and workshops; and oversees a variety of other student-engagement opportunities - all leveraging modern technologies. He also supervises professional staff and student interns and directs the Information Technology Associates Program. Boyles has a technical background earning a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, a M.S. in Computer Science and a Specialist (post-master's degree) in Library and Information Science.

LAUREL TILTON, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Laurel Tilton (they/them) is a 2018 graduate of DePauw, and majored in anthropology where they focused on the creation and maintenance of digital cultures. During their time at DePauw, they were a Media Fellow and an ITAP associate. Their technical specialties include videography and podcasting. Besides acting as Assistant Director, Laurel also oversees the Community Technology Engagement Program, where students have the opportunity to engage with Putnam County residents to increase digital literacy. Laurel is passionate about accessibility and inclusivity. They hail from a small rescue farm in Hamilton, Ohio. Laurel’s office is always open.
