Concluding Remarks
We discussed a variety of different p53 pathways and proposed models in this interactive text book. However it is essential to note that since p53 is so versatile, it is involved in many more pathways than discussed here. For a quick look at the extended pathway, refer to the picture below.
To Reflect,
We first introduced ourselves to the p53 protein.
Next, we took a look at how p53 is regulated in the form of MDM2 ubiquitination.
We further developed on this observation by exploring the TRIM65, p14 and p16 pathways and saw how they relate back to the p53-MDM2 linkage.
Introducing a new concept, we took a glance at G->T transversions and its devastating consequences.
Finally, we dived in deeper in our new found knowledge by exploring PAHs and BPDE.
Hope you learned a few things!
