Denisonians going off-campus in Spring 2027 are eligible to apply for this cycle!
If you are studying off campus during the SPRING 2027 SEMESTER, it is time to apply for the Gilman Scholarship (deadline set for October 1st, 2026)!
The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship is a national program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. This merit-based scholarship awards students up to $5,000 to use towards study abroad costs and expenses related to program participation. This applies to summer, fall, and spring OCS programs. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and recipients of the Federal Pell Grant. Read more about Eligibility on the Gilman website.
Spring 2027 OCS students can apply now! If you're considering studying abroad during a later term, then you would need to apply for a later cycle but can start exploring the application process/requirements now. The next Gilman application cycle will have a deadline in early March.
If you are applying, please contact Dr. Corey Efron at the Lisska Center for assistance with your essays. You can email him at efronc@denison.edu or schedule an appointment with him here. Please also let Mia Miller, millermia@denison.edu, in the Center for Global Programs know that you are applying. You can also schedule a time to chat with her about your application and any questions you have.
