Once you have been accepted into your OCS program by your program provider, the program partner will become your key resource. Program partners will provide information and pre-departure instructions that should be followed carefully. Consult with the program staff if you have any questions at all. They will help you understand the visa process, tell you when to book airline tickets, provide suggestions on what to pack, etc.
We are here to help, but the program provider is your first call.
You should apply for a passport right away. If you already have a passport, make sure that it will not expire until at least six months after the end of the program. Some countries may require that your passport is valid for one year past the end of your program or more! At least one parent/guardian should also have a valid passport in case of an emergency.

You are responsible for determining whether a visa is required for your program. If one is required, it is up to you to follow the visa application instructions given by the program partner. You should always consult with program partners about visa requirements. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions about Passports and Visas.
Denison strongly recommends that you avail yourself of the travel information available at the U.S. State Department (DoS), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and World Health Organization (WHO). Please read more in the OCS Handbook.
