Bringing people together and co-making change is a vital instrument in making liveable and safe public spaces. There are different approaches in how to do this and normally starts with setting clear co-design principles as a group. This is the first set in community empowerment and starting design thinking.
As a group you will probably end up repeating actions several times over and figuring out about learning and unlearning. We have been working on how to co-design with communities with libraries through having regular case clinics, one on one coaching and group learning exchanges.
We used specific tools to help us map what we were trying to achieve, like the double diamond and logic model and also used online tools like Jamboard and Miro for communication and idea gathering.
