Calling all Volunteers!

Are you interested in being involved at Brooke Elementary?

Volunteer in the library!

We are looking for adults to work in the library. This can be weekly for a few hours (Monday through Friday) or for special events like our upcoming Book Fairs.  Your help is needed to check in and out books, shelve books and shelf read. Training is quick and easy.

Our next Book Fair will be during the week of December 2nd through 6th and adults will be needed to help during the school day and after school to help students, tidy up displays, and sell books and Scholastic items!

If you are interested in helping in the library please email me at cdaoust@deltaschools.ca.

Thank you,

Claire D’Aoust

Teacher Librarian, Brooke Elementary

Summer Reading Challenge

Did you read this summer?

Bring printed photos of you reading in interesting places to the library to enter to win a FREE Scholastic Book of your choice AND a CHOICE library block for your class! Please write your name and grade on the back of each photo.  Each photo counts as one entry. (10 photos = 10 entries)

All photos due to the library by:  Friday, September 20, 2024.

End of Year & Summer Reading

All library books are to be returned to school as soon as possible (students do not need to wait for their library block to return books!) The first class to have all library books returned will win an Ice Cream Party. (Division 12 - Mrs. Formosa's class will continue to take out library books each day this week and "all library books returned" will mean that there are no overdue books.)

Students will be invited to participate in a Brooke Library Summer Reading Program where each student can sign out up to 15 books to read over the summer and return in September. Permission forms will be sent home with interested students who have returned all of their currently checked-out library books or can be printed and completed from the attachment.

There will be a Summer Reading Challenge where students will be encouraged to bring photos of themselves reading through the summer when they return to school in September. Winning students will be chosen based on a random draw.
