In Delta for the 2024-25 School Year for Secondary, Informal Reporting can take the form of Parent Teacher Conferences, a phone call, an email, a paper format home. Teachers must keep track of how you communicated with parents/families, and submit this information to the office.

Important Informal Reporting Reminders (as posted on MS Teams):
I've had a few queries from colleagues about sending emails to families, so I would just like to remind people the resources available to complete this reporting:
Some reminders on (MyEd) email etiquette:
In your email to parents/families, did you indicate your email address to reply to if they have questions or concerns?
Did you receive a copy of the email, meaning did you cc yourself? It's always good practice to cc yourself on emails in MyEd. I checked with a mass email that was sent to me through MyEd. I can only reply to myedbc@gov.bc.ca. This means that parents would need your email address to send a message to you, indicated in the body of your email or your email signature.
Some tips about emailing through MyEd that I found online:
MyEd can send email to Students and Parents/Guardians (Student Contacts)
MyEd will only email BCC (Blind Carbon Copy)
BCC conceals the person’s email entered in the Bcc: field from the other recipients
In MyEducation BC the To: field is actually a BCC field
The sender should always put their email address in the BCC so they receive a copy. Emails from MyEd will not appear in your Sent Messages in Outlook.
Cherie has updated all the documentation on the MyEd website, but I'm putting the docs here too, because, redundancy!

BC Marks Verification Report with Comments - I use this as a check for myself to ensure I have used the correct name, pronoun, and the comments make sense for each student and their learning.
Comments Website - here you'll find discipline specific examples, created by Delta teachers in September 2023, as well as Sentence Stems you can use for Emerging-Developing-Proficient-Extending and Suggested Language for comments.
