My name is Ms. Wright and here is a little bit about me ...😁
I grew up in Effort, Pennsylvania, which is a small town in the Pocono Mountains. During my time growing up there I discovered an interest in science. In fact, my own seventh grade science teacher told me that I would be a great science teacher one day!
After graduating from high school I studied Biology at Notre Dame of Maryland University, which is a small college in Baltimore, Maryland. My favorite classes there included microbiology, chemistry, and peace and justice studies. While I was there, I got to work on some pretty cool science experiments and learned a lot about working in a science lab. After living in Baltimore, I moved to New Jersey and went to Rutgers University and studied education so that I could become a teacher!
Outside of school I enjoy yoga, listening to music and going to concerts, hiking, sight-seeing, dancing, going to the beach, and spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, Paisley!
This year is my 4th year teaching at Delsea Middle School. Aside from my love of teaching science, I also have a passion for teaching and learning about equity and inclusion. I am an advisor for the Junior Black Cultural League, co-chair of the district Equity Council, and a member of the Middle School Climate Team. Making my students feel safe, welcomed, comfortable, and supported is very important to me.
I am so excited to teach you and see how much you learn and grow over the course of the school year! 😀
