This full year interdisciplinary course examines the complexity of the African American experience through direct encounters with varied sources dating from ancient African kingdoms to the ongoing accomplishments & challenges of the 21st century.
Students can also sign up for Dual Credit through Camden County by February 27, 2026. Students who earn a B or higher in the class will earn 3 college credits (the equivalent of African American Studies, a 200 level course). Guidance will release specific details in the 3rd marking period. Students are encouraged to consider this option especially if they are not strong standardized test takers.
Students must create their own College Board account.
