I cannot believe that I have been teaching for over 30 years!! I received my bachelors degree at UC Riverside and I transferred to CSU San Bernardino to earn my teaching credential. I have taught a variety of grade levels, starting with middle school in another district. When I came to DMUSD, I started in sixth grade and then came down to Kindergarten. I did have the opportunity to teach second grade but came back to Kindergarten. It's where I love to be!

All kids can learn...but not in the same way or not on the same day!
I believe that when students are given a variety of experiences they will develop into confident learners who are curious about what surrounds them. All children need guidance in order to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. I want my students to be excited about sharing their experiences. I want them to be confident citizens who are proud of their success!
Kindergarten is a magical place to be! Anyone who comes into our room is surrounded by happiness and excitement. There is a thirst for learning and a level of curiosity that drives these young beings. The love for teacher and the desire to know is what makes me love coming to work each day! Kindergarten is the foundation for your child's academic achievement. Reading, writing and mathematical knowledge will begin to grow and thrive but in order to be successful learners, children also need to learn how to be students. In addition to the academic content, we spend a lot of time on social and emotional skills which include identifying our own feelings, recognizing others', taking turns, working cooperatively with peers, communicating, problem solving, taking care of oneself and organization. I'm excited to be the beginning of your child's educational experience and I want your child to be excited to come to school!

My family and I currently live in Poway. We just moved this summer and are settling in and loving our new neighborhood! My husband, Chris, is the COO of a flooring company, which does installs for The Home Depot. We have 1 active and fun-loving son named Leo and a wonderful sweet dog named Buddy. My son is in fourth grade this year at Ashley Falls. We are a family of baseball fans and do support the Padres! (Sorry Giants and Dodger fans.) We have season tickets and enjoy going to games! We love to visit new ballparks throughout the country and are fond of traveling, staying in hotels, and being outside. Leo plays baseball all year around! He does play on a competitive travel team and also likes to play basketball, and any other sport that involves a ball. We are lucky to live in San Diego, the finest city in the world!
