Greetings! My name is Julie Sawi and I am thrilled to be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year. I am looking forward to a fabulous year together. I wanted to take a moment and share a little bit of information about myself.
My Education and Career
I graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies. I continued on and received my teaching credential. I started my career in Redondo Beach, California. I taught a 1/2 combo and 1st grade there for three years before I relocated to San Diego. I started teaching at Del Mar Hills when I joined DMUSD. I taught kindergarten and second grade before I became a part of the Sage Canyon family in 2005. I taught kindergarten for 8 years then, 2nd grade for 8 years, and now I am back in kindergarten again. This will be my 32nd year teaching.

My Family
My Family
I meet my husband, Art in my teaching credential program and this year we celebrated our 28 year anniversary!! He just retired from teaching elementary P.E in Coronado. We have two beautiful daughters, Lily and Natalie. Our girls are both attending SDSU. In our free time we enjoying boogie boarding at the beach, riding bikes, hanging out with friends and playing with our dogs Gigi and Sandy.
In my spare time, I enjoy exercising and bike rides, reading, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.
