My name is Linda Newquist and I am thrilled to be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year. I am looking forward to a wonderful year together. I wanted to take a moment and share a little bit of information about myself.

My Education and Career
My Education and Career
I graduated from University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in business. I then went on and received my teaching credential from Saint Mary's College. I started my career as a Kindergarten teacher in Santa Clara, California. I taught Kindergarten there for six years before my husband and I relocated to Naples Italy for a three year experience. In 1999, I received my Masters in Human Relations. We then moved to San Diego and I became a part of the Sage Canyon family in 2000. This year will be my 35th year teaching Kindergarten!

I am very passionate about teaching kindergarten, as you can see it is my 34th year! I believe in the whole-child approach to education where social, emotional and academic development are linked. Children also have many different learning styles and develop at different times. I strive to honor all learning styles and embrace all children as they approach the developmental stages of kindergarten.

I married my college sweetheart, Gunnar, and this year we celebrated our 34th anniversary! We have three wonderful children, a daughter in-law and 2 grandsons!
