Ashley Falls School
Welcome to Second Grade!
I am thrilled for the opportunity to teach your child this year! This will be my 21st year as an educator. I began my career in the La Mesa Spring Valley School District where I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I came to Ashley Falls in 2007 and have had the pleasure of teaching 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. I earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at San Diego State University, along with a Supplemental Credential in English.
I have been married to my husband Bret for nineteen years and we reside in Encinitas. We have two boys, Ryder (13 years old) and Brennen (11 years old). They definitely keep us on our toes! You will often find us enjoying the beach, taking walks, and attending our boys' soccer, football, or baseball games. We also love NFL football, rooting for the Padres or SDSU Aztecs, going to the Colorado River, and just enjoying life!
I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year!

My Educational Philosophy...
I strongly believe that building strong connections with each and every student is the foundation for success. It is my job to inspire students to love learning in a way that will make them successful both within and outside of the classroom. Helping each child progress in their journey of becoming a lifelong learner is a constant goal.
In order to apply my teaching philosophy, I plan to promote many different values in my classroom. These include, but are not limited to: understanding of different backgrounds and capabilities, caring for every child’s needs, and leading students to independence both within our classroom and all their other learning environments.
